 [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Not quite what you want but you can add

BYPASSWHITELIST bypasswhitelist xx y 0 0

to your global.cfg file. If a message weight exceeds xx and the message
was sent to y or more addresses the assigned action will take place. We
use delete and have a line in our $default$.JunkMail file(s) that is

BYPASSWHITELIST DELETE

Basically, this command lets the administrator have the final word as to
what should happen with a message. We use 40 and 2 for the values.

If tom wants everything whitelisted but dick, harry and joe don't then tom
causes the others to get spam (not good). The bypasswhitelist command, which
isn't listed on the junkmail page, but is on the release page, let's the
admin overrule tom, and depending upon the settings, causes none of them to
get the message. Tom won't miss his spam message and the others will never
get to see it.

[Declude.JunkMail] Whitelist setup problem

2004-03-12 Thread IMail Admin
Did I miss something here? I created a whitelist for a client (we use DJ
Pro) by adding this line to their domain-specific $default$.junkmail file:

WHITELISTFILE D:\IMail\Declude\PaulsonCommodities\whitelist.txt

(I put it in right before their list of weighted tests).

Inside the whilte list file, I have an entry:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]

I thought that this would cause email from this person to bypass the spam
system. However, messages from him are still being scored and processed.
When I checked the declude-x-sender line, the address is:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] Is the whitelisting system case-sensitive?

What am I missing here?

Thanks,

Ben

It isn't case sensitive. Is that the last line in the file? If so, can
you move the cursor to the line below it? If not, you need to go to the
end of the line and hit ENTER (most Windows programs won't be able to see
the last line in the file without a CRLF at the end).

Thanks Scott. You're saying the whiltelist file needs a blank line at the
end? I didn't have one, but I just added one now.

All Windows text files should have one (it's Microsoft code that won't read
the last line). I don't know off-hand which files in Declude require one,
but it's best to assume that all do.

Tommi,

There seems to be a feature for this built into Imail, but as usual, tests outside of
Declude aren't really useful. I got into trouble last week when the default setting
bounced a non spam.

Unfortunately, that's a problem inherent with SMTP E-mail -- it's possible
for anyone (including a spammer) to send one copy of an E-mail to many
recipients, each of whom is expected to receive an identical copy of the

Scott, Can you make in future declude some limited to many

Do you mean a test that would get triggered if there were a lot of
recipients (for example, a test that would get triggered if there were more
than 10 recipients for the E-mail)?

Yes, You can put self how many recipientes one E-mail can have. The Spam
E-mail can have 10 - 30 or more recipients. If you have a test for
triggered and have in your test HOLD after 8 recipients the spam E-mail
would stop.
