Look at the picture. http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/file/n3961482/national_symbols.png When this was discussed, the main issue was to *avoid* the necessity of localised icons; just using *A*,/A/,_A_ everywhere as universal symbols. Then (Mirek) opted for lowercase *a*,/a/,_a_ which in my opinion is prone to much more controversy. But since we don't have any means of cognitive testing of such details, we can't really judge. But I'm still convinced that capital *A*,/A/,_A_'s are more widely recognised as symbolising the Roman alphabet (and less prone to font details) than lowercase *a*,/a/,_a_. Re: [libreoffice-design] Re: Bold and Italic icons
Hi, Mirek You have a hidden problem: Use Vegur, LibreOffice's official font, if you need to. This means that Bulgaria, Belarus, Russia, Serbia, Ukraine and other countries that use the Cyrillic alphabet, will be offended, because Vegur does not include their national symbols. Actually, the only letter we should use is capital A, perhaps capital B if we need to. These symbols happen to belong in the Latin, Cyrillic, and Greek alphabets. We don't have to use Vegur per sé, but Vegur is ideal for deriving a symbol, as it's in the public domain. Icons should probably use tweaked versions of the font's A symbol to accentuate the associated action. 2012/5/4 Sveinn í Felli svei...@nett.is Þann fös 4.maí 2012 08:03, skrifaði ape: 1. In any case, the flat icon project has been shelved for now, until we find someone skilled and experienced to lead the project. I feel like the guidelines aren't strict enough yet to guarantee a cohesive set (e.g. there's no definition of line widths, corner sharpness, ...) and I'm not sure if focusing only on Android is the best thing to do if we'd like to use the icons in desktop/online LibreOffice itself sometime down the line. -- Unsubscribe instructions: E-mail to design+h...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/design/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted

Re: [libreoffice-design] Rework of the Templates and documents dialogue
OK I just added my proposal for the templates dialog [1]. Its nothing really awesome, just wanted to present a preview for the templates. I think you should be able to preview each page of the template before creating it.
