[Bug 36392] weather applet gives incorrect updating... feedback.
Public bug reported: https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/36392 Affects: gnome-applets (Ubuntu) Severity: Normal Priority: (none set) Status: Unconfirmed Description: steps to reproduce: add the weather-applet to the panel. display will be: ?-- tooltip on hover will be: Updating... Hitting update from context menu does nothing. Hitting details from context menu shows that my city is: DEFAULT_LOCATION It appears that is not updating at all. It's just like that default until you go to preferences and set your location. I am suggesting two possible fixes. Perhaps the easy way to approach it would be to implement (A) until (B) can be implemented. POSSIBLE FIXES: (A) When the weather applet is added to the panel, the preferences dialog automatically comes up with the Location tab selected. (B) Use the information on location obtained from the installer to set the location. This is existing bug: 9015 Now that I think about it, (A) might be better due to the likelihood of finer detail in location info in weather applet vs timezone? -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Public bug report changed: https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/33924 Comment: Shortly before reporting this I installed gnome-desktop-environment with aptitude and it definitely didn't install gnome-session. [Bug 36414] Evolution refuses to print in grayscale
Public bug reported: https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/36414 Affects: evolution (Ubuntu) Severity: Normal Priority: (none set) Status: Unconfirmed Description: Evolution appears to not acknowledge system printer settings on a stock Ubuntu Breezy install. It always prints out emails with blue email addresses and with a thin colour border around the whole page - this slows down printing as well as using a large amount of a single colour over a period of time. I've selected grayscale in the printer properties yet this doesn't seem to have stopped it. OpenOffice (and all other apps) print colours in grayscale without complaining, but Evolution persists and I can't find any internal printer settings in the programme itself. My printer is a HP Deskject 840C and the exact colour settings under the 'advanced' tab of printer properties are: 300dpi, draft, greyscale, black + colour cartridge 'Printout mode' under this is listed as draft greyscale. Cheers guys :) -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 29050] cupsys cannot access printer/scanner device
Public bug report changed: https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/29050 Comment: I see that the status on this bug has been changed to fix released. The update to cupsys may have fixed the multifunction, USB-connected device issue, but the problem still remains that my parallel-connected printer, which was recognized IDed by Breezy, doesn't seem to exist for Dapper. This is not a showstopper (I can make my printer work). [Bug 36419] sort windows by recent usage
Public bug reported: https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/36419 Affects: libwnck (Ubuntu) Severity: Normal Priority: (none set) Status: Unconfirmed Description: Hi, there's a quick feature which would improve my desktop experience a lot. I'd like an alternate mode where the taskbar would sort its buttons by recent usage (like ALT-TAB does). This means that, each time I activate a window, the corresponding taskbar button would be shifted to the leftmost position. Why? This way it would be much easier to frequently toggle between two open windows. I'd start looking to the left and instantly find the window I need. This is currently very difficult when many windows are open. Reason why I need to use ALT-TAB very often, or keep few windows open. More in general, this would allow to keep many windows open and still minimize the average time needed to find a window, because the most used windows would tend to concentrate to the left. I know this does not exploit spatial memory, and you are against adding options, but I thought I'd try and ask anyway. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
