[Bug 47870] Re: Incorrect date layout
Yes, we can do that, but you need first to migrate all translations from 'es_ES' to 'es' so no translations are lost. After that, send me an email and I will request a removal of es_ES pofiles. Take into account that there are some situations, that the es_ES should be there to handle things like numeric values or time values that are specific for Spain and are not shared with other Spanish countries. (Those are really bugs in applications, they should be using other locale information to generate them, instead of mark them to be translated). I had the same issue, it's this: in the latest evo packages for dapper, there's a bug that makes evolution - mail preferences - Junk - include remote tests behave badly. previously it didn't do anything, but now it marks all incoming mail as junk, and hides it for some reason. all your email will be hidden until you uncheck the box and restart evo. your hidden mail will be visible in the junk folder. the checkbox dos seem to do something when the right tools are installed (spamassasin, bogofilter, I don't know?), but noone knows what exactely. so general conclusion: don't check the evolution - mail preferences - Junk - include remote tests box. junk filtering in evo is horrible anyway, unchecking it won't make it any worse ;-) ** Changed in: evolution (Ubuntu) Status: Unconfirmed = Confirmed -- Missing emails in data file https://launchpad.net/bugs/37858 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 47889] Re: Label is write instead of copy
Thanks for the kind request for more info. Here, I am only considering the case where you perform a complete copy of a CD. That is, you right click on the CD on the desktop and select Copy Disc. Effectively we write a CD when performing the copy of a CD. But the write is a subprocess of the copy operation. The copy operation is first composed of a read to create the image and the a write on the blank CD. So in fact you click on Write to Read your source CD. The complete operation is the Copy of the CD (that is why the title of the window is by the way Copy Disc as shown on the screenshot). So it is more logical to start the complete operation by a Copy Disc or Copy button. In the case of a creation of a new CD from the burner or directly from an iso, I completely understand the use of the term Write because it is effectively the complete operation. I hope I was clear enough, it is really a problem of confusion for the first user who is not computer savy. -- Label is write instead of copy https://launchpad.net/bugs/47889 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 48097] gedit does not get focus when opening more than one document
Public bug reported: I already saw this behaviour during the dapper development phase, but it somehow got fixed with some updates. Now, some days before the dapper release, I've noticed it again. Basically, after having open a document, opening a new one will cause gedit to remain in the background, whereas it would be expected that gedit gets the focus and is brought to the foreground. Steps to reproduce: 1.- Open a Nautilus window. 2.- In this window, browse a folder that contains text documents. 3.- Click on a text document. The document will be opened in gedit, which will appear on the foreground. 4.- Go back to the Nautilus window and click on a second document. The document will be open in gedit, but this time in will remain in the background, while the window list bar is flashing. I think I've found a fix, but I haven't got time to further test the solution because of exams and revision. THE FIX I've managed to get discs burning by changing the gstreamer pipeline in the source_to_wav function in audio.py (directory /usr/lib/python2.4 /site-packages/serpentine/) - it appears to have frozen to start with but it's just taking a while to start filling the progress bar (Althon XP 2400+, 512MB RAM). This diff works on version 0.6.91-0ubuntu3: 495c495 audioconvert ! --- audioconvert ! audioresample ! On above mentioned version of the package, this change was made at line 495. I've only tested this fix on one set of MP3 and OGG files with one 80 minute CDR. PROBLEMS TO BE RESOLVED (unrelated bugs? problems with my solution?) After burning, Serpentine claims in an error dialog that Writing to disc failed. The CD has already been recorded. However the disc was blank, it burned successfuly and it plays perfectly. Large temporary .wav files are left behind in my home directory with names like tmp2iy1Ye.wav after burning, but automatically removed when Serpentine is quit.
