[Bug 58215] Re: Evolution's compose mail window doesn't allow standard Linux copy from in any address fields
I also experienced this, but it's not exactly as you say; I think I narrowed down the inconsistencies... here's what I found: Copying from the reply-to: field and pasting works anywhere and you can paste as many times as you like. Copying from the to:, cc:, and bcc: fields only paste _once_ back in to their own field, and no where else. If you try to paste somewhere else with the middle button, it won't do anything, and won't let you paste the clipboard data anymore - it's like it's been erased, yet it hasn't because the keyboard and menu commands always work. Copying from the subject: and post-to: fields allow infinite pasting outside of the subject field, but once you paste in the subject: field, it won't paste anymore, anywhere. I.e. pasting only works once within the subject field like the to: field except you can paste elseware. All the above work as expected (infinite pastes anywhere) using CTRL+C and CTRL+V. The problem is only with the middle mouse button, and there are definitely inconsistencies between the above fields in evolution and other applications. Can you confirm all of these Jim? Can anyone else please so we can set this bug to confirmed. [Bug 59563] Re: Unixish keyboard shortcuts stopped working again
That's due to 92_from_svn_init_cleanup.patch. xchat-gnome uses to do some init itself in a non-standard way instead of letting the GNOME libs doing the job. The accel changes have moved from .xchat2/accelerator_map to .gnome2/accels/XChat-GNOME IRC Chat. The SVN has fixed the program id which make it change again to .gnome2/accels/xchat-gnome. I've applied that patch to xchat-gnome 1:0.13-0ubuntu4 so people don't have to redo their changes when upgrading to edgy and redo them again when the next xchat-gnome version is packaged. xchat-gnome is not part of the default installation and most users probably don't change their accels so I'm not sure it's worth to spend efforts on trying to provide an upgrade path for that. [Bug 54478] Re: [network-admin] bug with several location in System-Networking (network-admin)
Thanks for your bug. You probably have been confused by the way network-admin works on dapper. When you add a profile it's created with the information you have at the moment. When you do changes, you don't modify the selected profile but the running session. To store the changes to add profile you have to add a profile with the same name. Reading that, do you think the tool works as described or do you still have some non expected behaviour from it? The way the tool work on dapper is really not obvious and we worked with upstream to change that on edgy. Now the add button next to the profile has been changed to a save one which open a window asking for the name of the profile to use and the name is preset to the current profile. Do you think that behaviour change fixes your issue? ** Changed in: gnome-system-tools (Ubuntu) Importance: Untriaged = Medium Assignee: (unassigned) = Ubuntu Desktop Bugs Status: Unconfirmed = Needs Info -- [network-admin] bug with several location in System-Networking (network-admin) https://launchpad.net/bugs/54478 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 3574] Re: Help button doesn't work in gnome-about-me
AFAIK from upstream comments, the problem is that there is no documentation to go with the Help button. So IMVHO it's better to hide the button until somebody writes up the documentation so that users don't click on it and wonder why doesn't is show help. It's not a solution of course.
