Yes, there is really an issue with the lid state. If cat /proc/acpi/button/lid/LID/state always returns: state: closed whether laptop is closed or open, you have an acpi bug... But g-p-m NEVER does dpms on when lid state = closed. [Bug 75873] script folders
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus I'd like to comment on an idea I read on Ubuntuforums: script folders. These would be like common folders containing items, only that a given script would be applied to all files copied to them. Imagine that I want my wallpapers to be at the same size as my screen: 1280x800. However, all the walls that I download are at bigger sizes, so I need to resize them one at a time, which can get really cumbersome. With script folders I could create a folder named 1280x800, and linked to a script used to resize images to that size. Any files copied to it would be automatically resized AND stored in the folder. Thanks for your report. Your idea might get more attention and have the possibility of being implemented if you would submit a specification for this. [Bug 72750] Re: Nautilus creating directory on NTFS partition
Hi, You should choose your locale according to how your system is actually set. To get all the configuration supported by your system, try 'locale -a' in a terminal, and choose according to what is your default language. I guess it should be pt_BR.utf8 or something. First you are dealing with people with spend time to try fixing the problems you face, if you have a question or problem you can formulate some correct phrase for it, LOL? doesn't speak a lot and is not an useful comment. It looks like you are not familar about how most launchpad is working. When a bug is fixed to the current distribution it's marking as fixed. Backport tasks are used for problems which need to be fixed to previous distribution. Backport to stable is not a trivial procedure though (you can read about it on the https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates page), a minor problem like that one (the 7zr is not the most used format, that's not destroying datas, few people complained about it) is not a candidate for an update. [Bug 61767] Re: External disks PPC bootstrap partition are automounted
Nope :( debian patching is a bit too fuzzy. in: /usr/share/hal/fdi/policy/10osvendor/20-storage-methods.fdi - match key=volume.fsusage string=filesystem !-- Should always ignore Apple Bootstrap partitions (it would be -- !-- a security hole to mount it) - TODO: should use the bootable -- !-- flag from the Mac partition table instead -- match key=volume.fstype string=hfs match key=volume.label string=bootstrap merge key=volume.ignore type=booltrue/merge /match /match !-- Here follow volumes we specifically want to ignore - it is the -- !-- responsibility of software higher in the stack (e.g. gnome-vfs) -- !-- amd mount programs (e.g. Mount() on HAL) to respect volume.ignore -- merge key=volume.ignore type=boolfalse/merge moving the line merge key=volume.ignore type=boolfalse/merge before match key=volume.fstype string=hfs works though. [Bug 67443] Re: Progress bar is invisible
Mitch: I do not have that problem with the USplash (although it does some ugly stuff when hibernating!). However, I am experiencing another really weird graphics glitch in Edgy, and I have subscribed to its bug report: I can sort of describe it as a really strange vertical / horizontal artifact-filled scrolling mess which occurs when logging out, restarting X... maybe something to do with changing graphics modes. I've noticed that it flashes assets used in the Human theme, so probably stuff left in VRAM... My specs: Ubuntu is running on a very old Compaq Presario with a 500 mHz Celeron processor and an Intel Integrated Graphics card. (i810). Both bugs happen with both the i810 driver and the alternative intel driver. Installing from the same disk (and with the same procedure) on a different computer does not result in any of these glitches. -- Progress bar is invisible https://launchpad.net/bugs/67443 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
