[Bug 83695] Produces warning if lsb_release isn't Ubuntu

2007-02-07 Thread Brian Brazil
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: system-tools-backends

This is related to #72722

System-tools-backends produces an error if lsb_release isn't one of a handful
of values.
This breaks for downstream distributions.

Please remove this check, the fact that I'm using a supported system is
implicit from me using a package from Ubuntu.
Hint: debian/patches/05_ubuntu-no-warning.patch

[Bug 76193] Re: gnome-screenshot in Edgy crashes... but still works

2007-02-07 Thread Jean-Marie PIVETEAU
Hello,

I used GDB (apport seems more complicated to use).

I had to run gnome-panel-screenshot 14 times before the application
crashes.

You'll find in the attachment the trace of the last (fourteenth!) gnome-
panel-screenshot run.

Sorry but I don't know how to install the debug symbols for this application.
However, I did install gnome-panel-dbg, but I just see that this is not used
because file /usr/bin/gnome-panel shows that I have the stripped version.
Do you know how to activate the non-stripped copy of gnome-panel ?
I will try to find.

[Bug 83713] gaim does not connect to any network since network-manager was installed

Ubuntu 7.04 (PPC) up to date as of 07/02/07

Yes, an apt-get upgrade installed network-manager some time ago, but

[Bug 83729] Gaim crash while away from computer

2007-02-07 Thread Enrique Argones
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gaim

This is the second time this happens. I am away from the computer for 15
minutes and then, when I am back, I find that Gaim has crashed. The
reason is a Segmentation Fault. This bug seems to be similar to 83316,

Right, I see what's going on here. I edited my /etc/profile not to check

I would say that was a misunderstanding on my part and those others who
removed the checks.

I have added the checks back in and everything works fine.

Hi Again,

Unfortunately my problem occurs on the setup phase from the alternate

I then have this error message about PCIC Probe all over the place and
cannot continue the installation.

The LiveCD boots and starts installation well.

Re: [Bug 83752] Re: Nautilus bookmarks cannot be re-ordered

2007-02-07 Thread Erik Chakravarty
Agreed that this is about a feature in Nautilus - but I think this is
something that had previously worked. Feel free to correct me on that
though. When a bookmark is dragged, a line appears between the two other
bookmarks it is dragged to, implying that it can be 'dropped' there.

Having done some more experimentation - I find that re-ordering is
actually possible but it just doesn't really work very well anymore. I
just managed to switch the position of two folders by moving a third but
the operation was erratic and difficult to control.

The rationale of being able to order bookmarks is that it's useful
having your favourite ones at the top, especially when using the gtk
Open File or Save As dialogues where it's a small window and you'd
have to scroll all the way down to find the desired bookmark.

I certainly agree that this is a wishlist bug - but it may also be a
very quick and simple fix for the Nautilus dev team so in my opinion
it's probably worth keeping it open in the interest of a high quality
user experience in the release.

[Bug 68714] Eclipse does not close (window disappears, process keeps running)

2007-02-07 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Public bug reported:

Eclipse does not close when closing the application (File-Exit or
windows closing cross). The eclipse window disappears, but the process
keeps running:

25524 pts/3S+ 0:00 /usr/lib/eclipse/eclipse -vm
/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.5.0-sun/bin/java -install /usr/lib/eclipse -startup
/usr

This problem also occur with the upstream 3.2.1 package. I have this
problem on my x86 box, not on my amd64 box.

[Bug 82373] Re: segfault in gnome-keyboard-properties

2007-02-07 Thread Alex Mauer
Yeah, but I would think it should be handled rather than crashing. The
program obviously shouldn't work normally (though that would be ideal),
but it shouldn't crash either.

[Bug 83744] Re: [apport] evolution crashed with SIGSEGV during print

2007-02-07 Thread Daniel Holbach
In #1:
(gdb) print cr-gstate
$1 = (cairo_gstate_t *) 0x0
(gdb)

_cairo_gstate_backend_to_user (cairo_gstate_t *gstate, double *x, double
*y) can't deal with that.

Unfortunately I can't get debug symbols for
/usr/lib/libpangocairo-1.0.so.0 so I can't find out if it's a cairo or
pango problem.

Which version of libpango1.0-0 do you have? Is this reproducible?

[Bug 81723] Re: [apport] gnome-panel crashed with SIGSEGV in ??()

2007-02-07 Thread hggdh
I am sorry. There is not much I can do, then. I do not have a sequence
to reproduce the issue, and I cannot keep on running gnome-panel under
valgrind -- response times suck, and there are issues on gnome-panel and
any opened windows themselves (open windows are without windows control
--right-clicking on the window title bar does not work), and they cover
the panel itself, making it unaccessible.

[Bug 49441] Re: Should not choose GL screensavers when no acceleration is available

2007-02-07 Thread boll
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 33753 ***

to disable the offending screensaver in ubuntu just remove the execute
attribute from the files.

for gnome screensaver:
cd /usr/lib/gnome-screensaver/gnome-screensaver
sudo chmod -x *

for xscreensaver:
cd /usr/lib/xscreensaver
sudo chmod -x *

both sets of screensavers will not be displayed in the list of available
screensavers any more, for any user.

[Bug 26921] Re: The desktop panels flip after logout

2007-02-07 Thread Michael Colligan
New around here and to Ubuntu or I would have commented earlier on this
one before it was closed.

This still occurs as described on edgy 6.10 with all latest patches.

As reference, this does not occur on either my openSUSE 10.2 or Fedora 6
installations.

Thanks!
