Do you have an easy way to trigger it, we might get a fix to feisty-

For me it seemed more likely to happen with very large font sizes...

[Bug 102527] [feisty] gnome-ui-properties / Main-Menu, issue with separator

2007-04-15 Thread Fabien Tassin
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Select System / Preferences / Main Menu, go anywhere in the tree, click
on any entry, then click up or down, the corresponding entry moves
accordingly and stays selected. Good.

Now, insert a separator, select an entry below that separator, click up
or down, it moves but the selection is no longer the right entry, The
entry moves once but the selection moves twice. That means if you click
more than once on up or down, you mess up the order completly.

this a freshly updated feisty.

oh, and BTW, Moving entries up or down is *very* slow, even on brand new
H/W.

[Bug 106617] Different icons for okay button

2007-04-15 Thread SK8T
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

As I said in another bug report already, the green arrow that looks like
the enter key on your keyboard on many okay-buttons is no good choice.

(see: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-
notifier/+bug/103710)

But this bug report has a slightly other theme.
There are two typs of the okay buttons, and I do not know the difference
between them. So I think this is very confusing and a catastrophy for the
polished look of feisty.

The okay button in the session window shows the ugly enter-key okay button:
http://sk8t.sk.funpic.de/ubuntu12.png

But the okay button in the resolution window shows an icon like in synaptic
(and in my opinion the better symbol for okay):
http://sk8t.sk.funpic.de/ubuntu13.png

That's very confusing.

fish (the interacitve shell) bug I removed it by doing chsh back to bash

No, this bug hasn't already reported at least in the duplicate bug. On
ntfs-3g partitions the files aren't shown at all even if you open the
trash manual. The other one (External disk trash not shown by trash
applet) is a gui bug but this one seems to be deeper. I guess that
Gnome doesn't expect writing support for ntfs but I don't know. Please
reopen it or at least check it with an ntfs-3g partition.

[Bug 106710] Re: spelling mistake, says user memory instead of used memory

Thanks for your bug report.

For others wondering where this issue lies -
Steps to reproduce:
1. Start gnome-system-monitor .
2. Click on the Resources tab.
3. Under Memory and Swap History there is a row that says User memory:.

lukecarrier:
Are you sure it's a spelling mistake? That number doesn't include memory used
by the kernel for its cache thus it is only memory used by userland programs...
...hmm the help page sides with you:

[Bug 105621] unexpected behaviour when removing users from a group in the Users and Groups interface

2007-04-15 Thread josh jensen
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Ubuntu server Version - 6.06.1 LTS (from /etc/issue)
Linux-image Version - 2.6.15-28.51 (Linux-image-2.6.15-28-server)
gnome-system-tools Version - 2.14.0-0ubuntu11

Steps to reproduce:
1- open the Users and Groups interface (System-Administration-Users and
Groups)
2- select the 'groups' tab
3- add a group (click [Add Group...], 'Group name' = test, Add some(11) group
members, click [OK])
4- apply changes by clicking [OK]
5- open Users and Groups again, select the 'groups' tab
6- select our new group ('test')
7- click [properties]
8- select a user (eighth from top) and click [Remove]
9- click [OK]
10- apply changes by clicking [OK]
11- open Users and Groups again, select the 'groups' tab
12- select our 'test' group, click [Properties]

I only have three users remaining in the group (it appears that all
users above (and including) the eighth from the top were removed?)

[Bug 106739] Tag editing in rhythmbox strips all tags completely

2007-04-15 Thread Dan Bishop
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

If you select multiple tracks in rhythmbox, then right click and select
properties you can edit any tags that are the same for all the tracks
selected. For example, the album tag. If you do however, the effect can
only be seen in rhythmbox, use anything else to access the mp3 and you
will see that ALL tag data has been stripped form the file. This applies
to both IDE3 v1 and v2.

[Bug 102752] Re: evolution crashes on startup

2007-04-15 Thread gleb
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 93268 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/93268

Sebastien,
the bug is marked as duplicate, but do I understand correctly that it isn't
fixed so far? So what should I do now? Should I wait for the next version to be
released or what?
Thanks for your help,
Gleb

This doesn't seem to be a duplicate of bug #32466. There, the files can
be found in trash:// - this is not the case here.

[Bug 106749] horizontally maximised windows get stuck

2007-04-15 Thread sam tygier
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: metacity

horizontally maximised can get stuck to the edge of the screen so that
you can't move them sideways by dragging the title bar. minimising and
maximising seems to fix this.

i have seen it happen with epiphany, gedit and nautilus, so i assume it
is happening at the metacity layer.

the easiest way to reproduce is with gedit.
open a text file
resize the window so that it touches both sides of the screen, but not the top
and bottom.
close the document
open it again, it should open at them same size
now try to move the window by dragging the title bar

this is on an up to date feisty
