Re: [Bug 118605] Re: Feisty freezes upon Logout or Switch user

2007-06-13 Thread Matej Vitasek
I have a ATI Radeon 9600, more specifically:
pci.product: RV350 AR [Radeon 9600]
pci.subsys_product: Sapphire Radeon 9600XT
...based on Device Manager info.

Driver: I am using the Restricted driver, enabled in Restricted
drivers manager.

Kernel: due to the problems with -16 kernel, I am using the -15
version at the moment.

Some time ago I ran also the Ubuntu Hardware Database, but something
failed. My subscription ID is ed63ead2ead8903609e6a17361e1cc5f,
however http://hwdb.ubuntu.com/ reports some kind of error. Now I
cannot re-run the detection [and possibly attempt to upload data
again], all the UHD allows is viewing the ID.

If you need more info, please ask.

[Bug 120146] Re: /usr/share/doc/gnome-vfs-obexftp/copyright has inaccurate authors list

2007-06-13 Thread Daniel Holbach
gnome-vfs-obexftp (0.3-0ubuntu1) gutsy; urgency=low

  * New upstream release:
- Sync osso-gwobex and osso-gnome-vfs-extras changes from Maemo
  Subversion.
- Instead of asking hcid to set up the RFCOMM device for communication,
use an RFCOMM socket directly. This is both faster and doesn't require
  enabling experimental hcid interfaces.
- Improve free space calculation for Nokia phones with multiple memory
types (e.g. phone memory and a memory card).
Now the free space for the correct memory type for a given directory
should be returned. This fixes various free-space dependent operations
in Nautilus such as copying files. (LP: #116912)
- debian/copyright: updated. (LP: #120146)
- debian/control.in:
  - added libbluetooth-dev (= 3.7) to Build-Depends.
  - changed Maintainer field.

[Bug 116912] Re: Free Space on Phone's SD Card Incorrect in Nautilus

2007-06-13 Thread Mattias Eriksson
I have tried both 0.2 and 0.3 with my SonyEriksson z710. Both versions
report 0 bytes free space, so I can't copy anyting to the phone. I tried
0.2 with my old phone K610 and that worked, but that phone didn't have a
memory card.

So in short... this bug still is valid for new SonyEricsson mobiles with
memory cards

[Bug 120185] cover art download problem (loop?)

2007-06-13 Thread Nicolò Chieffo
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

When a new album is added, the plugin displays a rotating wheel, to inform
the user that he's searching for the album art image.
The result should be:
1) album found and thed displayed
2) album not found

In my case (rhythmbox 0.11.0-0ubuntu4 gutsy) there is a 3rd case: the wheel
continues to rotate without an end.
How can I give you further information?

[Bug 106710] Re: spelling mistake, says user memory instead of used memory

2007-06-13 Thread Henrik Nilsen Omma
On the system resources applet memory is grouped as User, Shared,
Buffers, Cache and Free. These terms are correct if rather jargony. The
System Monitor gnome app only shows the 'User' component of these.
Technically correct, but arguably confusing. The documentation
explaining this has now been updated.

I use the Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty version. I'm afraid I can't. The file I had

can give you a few informations about it:

It was packed with Winrar 3.51 under Windows XP.

If I find an example, I will give it to you.

Thank you for your bug. Could you attach an example to the bug? What

[Bug 116912] Re: Free Space on Phone's SD Card Incorrect in Nautilus

2007-06-13 Thread James Henstridge
Matthias: I don't think your problem is related to this bug report --
this one is about distinguishing what volume a particular directory
resides on and returning the appropriate free space. Your one sounds
more like faulty reporting of free space.

I've heard of a few other people having trouble with Sony phones, but
don't have the hardware to debug it. If you would like to help me debug
the problem, I suggest opening a new bug report. I've got a few
commands you could run to collect data that would be useful in tracking
down the problems.

[Bug 119682] Re: automatically delete files from certain folders

2007-06-13 Thread Tom Mortimer-Jones
Thanks for your report.

Sounds like an interesting idea. It might get more attention and have
the possibility of being implemented if you submit a specification for
it. First check whether the idea is already registered
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+specs, and if so, contact the
specification's drafter about your ideas. Otherwise, you can start
writing a spec yourself.

[Bug 120214] Faulty reporting of free space with Sony Ericsson z710

2007-06-13 Thread Mattias Eriksson
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-vfs-obexftp

I have tried both 0.2 and 0.3 with my SonyEriksson z710. Both versions
report 0 bytes free space, so I can't copy anyting to the phone. I tried
0.2 with my old phone K610 and that worked, but that phone didn't have a
memory card.

Just to be sure I tested again and restarted everyting (including phone,
nautilus, bluez, gnome-vfs-daemon) and still not working.
The phone is paired, and I can access the phone and browse the content, copy
from the phone to the desktop but not to the phone.

I don't know if it helps, but it seems that there are no mem-type
specified on this phone

Each should result in an XML file being printed. The output of

[Bug 120220] Connect to server have minimal dialogues - Needs to communicate more

2007-06-13 Thread brettalton
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

After entering the correct information in Places Connect to
Server... and clicking Connect, there is no notification of what
Connect to Server is doing.

This appears in Dapper (6.06.1), Edgy (6.10), Feisty (7.04) and Gusty
(7.10) [2007-06-13] - 4.10, 5.04 and 5.10 not tested.

* If I enter in a domain that is incorrect or times-out, nothing appears as a
dialogue - an icon does - sometimes - appear on the desktop
* If I have conflicting .ssh/known_hosts keys, no dialogue appears to tell me
that there is a problem.

Both of these problems have the correct error output when using ssh
[EMAIL PROTECTED]; Most users aren't aware of how to use the terminal and
therefore can't figure out what is wrong with their connection.

How to repeat:
1) Enter in an incorrect domain, user, port for ssh in 'Connect to Server',
then click 'Connect' - nothing appears as the cause of the problem BUT an icon
appears on the desktop - not helpful
2) Connect to a second computer using ssh (on the command-line or otherwise).
Disconnect and then write new rsa/dsa keys and then connect again. If you use
Connect to Server... which reads the file .ssh/known_hosts, Connect to
Server... will not tell you that there are conflicting keys in that file.
Connect to Server... should offer a solution by deleting that entry in the
file, or deleting the file altogether. At a minimum, a dialogue should appear
to make the user aware there is a problem.

I have even had a problem on my recently upgrade Feisty (7.04) machine
that when I try Connect to Server, nothing appears in dialogue format
(of course), but also no icon appears on the desktop. killall nautilus
doesn't fix the problem, but a reboot does. This is when I am greeted
with multiple versions of a shortcut to my server that I entered. (ie:
server, server (1), server (2), etc.)

I'm not sure what files are involved in this bug, but I am willing and
still able to post any files that you request.

[Bug 33762] Re: Appletouch trackpad unbearably slow

2007-06-13 Thread Tim Hull
I managed to fix this by changing the SendCoreEvents line in xorg.conf to
Option CorePointer

Then I get better acceleration...

This only works on Gutsy, though - it breaks the trackpad on Feisty...

Can we get a fix in Gutsy?

2007-06-13 Thread brettalton
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/41944 is a
similar bug, BUT NOT A DUPLICATE. I am speaking of the lack of dialogues
in Connect to Server... which is something major that needs to be
addressed.

Please see those three threads I posted as well for more information and
discussion.

Sorry for multiple entries - I don't know how to 'edit' in Launchpad

[Bug 37073] Re: can't delete calendar

2007-06-13 Thread Tobias John
Hello,
I have got the same Problem.
I have Ubuntu Feisty Fawn (7.04) (german version) up to date.
I created a new Calendar under Contacts (Kontakte).
One with the name öpöö and one with the name test.
The I clicked on them with the right-mouse-button and selected delete.
I klicked on Delete (Löschen) at the confirmation-prompt. Nothing happend.
The Cancle-Button (Abbrechen) doesn't have an affect too.
I tried to delete the Calendars on other ways - but without success.

Can anybody help me?
