[Bug 126719] GDM does not kill resistant user processes after logout
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gdm Description: The bug is described in Gnome's bugzilla: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=152907 I don't know if they will fix it upstream, so please provide a patch that kills resistant user processes after logging out of Gnome session. Following bug in Launchpad deals with a similar problem: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-session/+bug/49594 Expected behavior: If Gnome devs are not interested in killing processes after CtrlAltBackspace was hit by a user, GDM should have a patch that kills ALL user processes which are still running. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, there is not enough information to allow us to help you. If it *is* an Exchange mail server, run the command below from a terminal: env E2K_DEBUG=2 evolution --component=mail evo.log 21 5. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately we do not have, yet, enough data to understand the error. [Bug 126750] Re: exchange mail keeps on crashing, can't send emails through exchange
Thank you. There are two options now for us: 1. try to bypass the error 2. keep on zeroing in the error. For (1) you can try to delete the ~/.evolution/mail/exchange/whatever is the mail account directory. Research upstream and sideways suggest that by removing this directory users were able to regain access to OWA. If you decide to go this way, please do save the directory before removing it. The following sequence of commands from a terminal will do it (comments are preceded by a '#', and request manual intervention of some sort from you): evolution --force-shutdown ps -ef | grep evolution-exchange # from the output, grab the pid number for the evolution-exchange -- if one is shown! # if there is indeed an evolution-exchange process running, kill it: kill pid of the evolution-exchange process cd ~/.evolution/mail/exchange ls # the output of 'ls' will give you as many directories as Exchange accounts you have. You seem to have just one. rm -rf your account directory Then normally restart Evolution. For (2)... there is no consensus that I could find on what is the root cause of this error. So we will have to dig in more -- which means I will need another debug run, but with some new steps. Please tell me how you want to proceed. -- exchange mail keeps on crashing, can't send emails through exchange https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/126750 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 126135] Re: Change user funtion from shutdown menu, crashes preferences
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. You can learn more about finding the right package at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage . [Bug 121796] Re: multiple non-working Open WithGimp entries
Surely it is Open with... submenu bug. At the first time I tried it (right after boot), it works. But it's not working after the second try. Not only gimp, but any other apps are also affected. I've tried it on .txt, .png, and apps like Kate, or F-spot doesn't load whenever it's called via the Open with ... submenu. Remember, it won't happen on the first or second try.
