conjunction with Beryl on Feisty/Gutsy?

Thanks very much! Appreciate the two cents big time!

I was talking to Jeroen but if you have the 100.14.11 driver and have a

system lockup. This crash appears to have something to do with session

[Bug 127702] Re: sometimes cannot close or minimize windows

2007-07-24 Thread jamie
Yes. Its when the application window is in full screen.

The window system commands (i.e. minimize, maximize, close) lock up.

This occurs out of the box with Ubuntu Feisty (i.e. no software updates,
Nvidia 7800 graphics card, compiz enabled)

I think this is a compiz related issue because when I disabled it, the
problem seems to dissapear.

This is because you are using the 2.6.20-16-386 kernel. The -386 kernel
deliberately does not support multiple cores, since some of the drivers
included are not safe on multiple cores. You should be using the

Does running the command grep -i AddARGBGLXVisuals /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Option AddARGBGLXVisuals True?

If it does not give that output, then you need to run sudo

[Bug 127887] Re: White Screen instead of Terminal.

2007-07-24 Thread Alden
Thanks Chris,

 I wasn't sure how the bug process works, and didn't realize there was a
follow up until I checked my email. I am not sure what the difference
is, but what I ended up doing was adding Option AddARGBGLXVisuals
True to my xorg.conf directly. (I am knew to Linux.)

 Again thanks, and I hope this is something that can be worked out for
new users like myself. While I enjoy the learning experience, many wont.
But then again we are lazy and don't go get it until we have too! Hop
you have a good night.

[Bug 62163] Re: variables from the session are not defined

2007-07-24 Thread Laurent Bigonville
dbus (1.1.1-3ubuntu1) gutsy; urgency=low

  * Merge from debian unstable, remaining changes:
- debian/patches/80-dbus-change-at-console-policy.patch: Make at_console
  policy work with libpam-foreground.
- debian/patches/81-session.conf-timeout.patch: Raise the service startup
  timeout from 25 to 60 seconds. It may be too short on the live CD with
  slow machines.
- debian/rules: Start dbus at runlevel priority 12, so that it comes
  before gdm. This eliminates the race condition of starting the X session
  before hal is running. Also use 'multiuser' mode of update-rc.d.
- debian/dbus.postinst: Migrate rc?.d symlinks from 20 to 12 on upgrades
  to this version. This needs to be kept until the next Ubuntu LTS.
- debian/dbus.{postinst,prerm}: Reverted Debian's change to always restart
  dbus on upgrades.
  * debian/control: Drop dbus dependency to dbus-x11, since we crave to get
rid of that Xsession.d script. (LP: #62163)
  * debian/dbus.preinst: Improve rm_conffile() to get the unmodified md5sum
from dpkg instead of hardcoding it, and remove unchanged
/etc/X11/Xsession.d/75dbus_dbus-launch on upgrade.
  * Fix debian/patches/80-dbus-change-at-console-policy.patch

dbus (1.1.1-3) unstable; urgency=low

  * List arches where the build-dep on libselinux1-dev doesn't apply; thanks
Michael Banck; closes: #430821.
  * Wrap build-deps and deps.
  * Misc cleanups, including quoting in maintainer scripts.
  * Add myself as uploader.
  * Add ${misc:Depends}.

dbus (1.1.1-2) unstable; urgency=low

dbus (1.1.1-1) unstable; urgency=low

  terminates on STRG+C. (Closes: #414139)

  [ Sjoerd Simons ]
  * New upstream release
  * debian/libdbus-1-3.shlibs: Bumped shlibs

dbus (1.1.0-1) unstable; urgency=low

  [ Sjoerd Simons ]
  * New upstream release

  [ Tim Dijkstra ]
  * Disable userdb cache. If you need a cache, use nscd. (closes: #370569)

  [ Michael Biebl ]
  * debian/control
+ Fix small typo in the dbus-x11 package description. (Closes: #425132)
+ Replace Source-Version with binary:Version for libdbus-1-dev.
  * debian/dbus.init
+ Suppress error messages about nonexistent or unreadable files.
  (Closes: #426296)
+ Do not abort on grep errors. (Closes: #423380)
+ Do not abort if starting a dependent service fails.
  * debian/control
+ Add build dependency on autotools-dev for up-to-date config.{guess,sub}

[Bug 119608] Re: gnome-terminal and compiz / minimize and maximize behaviour

2007-07-24 Thread John van Schie
I am experiencing the same problem. When you maximize a gnome-terminal, you are
not able to resize it, minimize it or close it by the buttons in the top right
corner when using Compiz.
When you try to either press one of the window buttons of the top right corner
or double click on the title bar, then the window title bar look like it lost
focus.
When you then again click either one of the buttons or on the title bar, then
it will ignore the terminal window and perform the action on the window behind
it (which is really annoying, many times I have closed applications when I
wanted to close the terminal).

[Bug 127174] Re: [missing dependency] python-gnomecanvas

2007-07-24 Thread William Lima
I am re-opening this bug after seb128 suggestion. gnome-python should
depends on python-gconf too.

[Bug 124437] Re: Format profile active but not choosable in drop down list

2007-07-24 Thread Sergio Zanchetta
I confirm this problem.
It was reported even in Bug #84007 on some comments.
Even if you add a new mp3 profile, it's impossible to use it.
It seems to happen only when you put mp3 in file extension box.
Feisty and Gusty Tribe 3 are both affected.
