[Bug 35876] Re: 'Downloading package information' and 'building dependency tree' progress dialogs steal focus

2007-10-01 Thread Matthew Walton
Contrary to Sebastian's comment in February, Compiz also exhibits this
behaviour, so I don't think the entire blame can be placed on metacity.

Nothing else on my Gutsy system behaves like this, so it has to be
something update manager is doing differently - although I can't figure
out what that is. It's incredibly irritating though (and makes me wonder
- why pop up a window at all? Why not swap out the existing contents for
a progress display? That's another bug of course).

[Bug 123078] Re: System - Quit takes a long time to appear

2007-10-01 Thread Gaëtan de Menten
Ok, I've experienced the problem with compiz disabled too, so nevermind
my post. The true workaround (found thanks to a post at lwn) is to have
gnome-power-manager in your session (which I had removed since I don't
have a laptop).

[Bug 123078] Re: System - Quit takes a long time to appear

2007-10-01 Thread Gaëtan de Menten
As mentioned in my previous comment, it still happens if the user has no
gnome-power-manager in his session (which worked fine in Feisty). I'm
reopening the bug, just to make sure you know about it since I don't
know if you want to support that case.

[Bug 94605] Re: when DVD is in drive on boot, two icons for the DVD appear on the desktop in gnome

2007-10-01 Thread Yuri Glushkov
I have the same problem. When the disk is removed and another inserted, new
icon shows up, but the previous one stays (but when opened, leads to the new
disk). The second icon disappears after reboot without disk in the drive.
My configuration:
Laptop MSI EX600
DVD drive LG GSA-T20N
Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty Fawn

[Bug 117732] Re: ABI changed without a corresponding soname change

2007-10-01 Thread dennda
Sorry if I mess things up here:
The update is already available through update-manager (the description even
has a link to this bug report) but cannot be installed since I cannot tick the
checkbox.
I guess this has to do with what Stéphane said:
Ekiga has been uploaded but it's currently missing a build-dep to be built :
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/gutsy/+builds?build_text=ekigabuild_state=all
Once the new opal is uploaded, the build should start and the new ekiga will
appear in Gutsy.

If this is true and I just have to wait please ignore this posting and
go on with your more important work. :)

regards

[Bug 102769] Re: drawer does not retain sort order of items

2007-10-01 Thread Tobias
I can confirm the behaviour.
If the screen size changes, the order will change. Especially - if there is no
free space left in panel.

My preferred behaviour:
Remembering distance in percentage (depending on panel width or height) and
keep the correct order. (xfce panel for example do that explicit )
