[Bug 163090] Re: Login screen runs with different screen resolution than desktop
I'm having the same trouble along with some others on the ubuntu forums. My desktops are running [EMAIL PROTECTED], but the login screen remains [EMAIL PROTECTED], which doesn't look very nice on my monitor(Eizo Flexscan T662-T). According to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage the problem seems to reside in package gdm. This phenomenom came to me along with some updates to GutsyBeta, I thought it was due to an update of xorg. Additionally, occasionally the user desktops also start with that ugly resolution. Seems to me that there's something wrong with the hardware recognition and the system configures the display system with default settings against settings given in xorg.conf. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: totem restricted plugins message shows a button, the link for which is incorrect. It seems like a simple repeatable bug. For e.g. instead of http://ubuntu.com/restrictedplugins/ the button instead opens up the default browser (in my case firefox) with this link: file:///home/robins/'http://ubuntu.com/restrictedplugins/' It seems somehow the user's home folder is prepended to the restricted page URL.
