[Bug 184998] [NEW] Move To Another Workspace: moves to Desk 3 in Desk 2 when selectin Desk 1 in Compiz

2008-02-19 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

In Gutsy, fulled updated to 2008-01-21, using the Move To Another
Workspace, the window gets moved to an incorrect 'desk' or workspace.
This only occurs when using Compiz, or Appearance:
Minimal/Standard/Custom

Example:

User/window currently in Desk 2
-
| |x| | |
-

Select Move to Another Workspace: Desk 1

User/window now in Desk 3 (incorrect)
-
| | |x| |
-

Select Move to Another Workspace: Desk 1

User/window now in Desk 1 (correct)
-
|x| | | |
-

I will post a screencast if necessary.

[Bug 188097] [NEW] cannot burn cd using cd/dvd writer

2008-02-19 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

CD/DVD works fine playing media.
Using Nautilus to try to write a directory to a writable CD fails.
Here's what happens:
Insert a blank disk.
The Choose Disk Type dialog pops up and I select Make Data CD.
The CD/DVD creator file browser comes up and I drag the folder that I am
interested in to the window.
I click the Write to Disc button.
An empty Write to Disc window comes up and that's it. No other messages or
further progress.

I downloaded brasero and ran it from the command line and it worked,
although it did have this error message:

_

[Bug 52579] Re: Rhythmbox plays only one song, then produces obscure error message

2008-02-19 Thread Joe Smith
Lukas:

Generally, it's a better idea to create a new bug that's specific to
your issue than to tag onto an existing one. This helps keep everything
distinct, as the symptoms you're reporting (a radio stream not working
properly) seems like it might be different from the one reported here
(songs on the hard drive).

If this is still an issue for you, please open up a new bug report, and
then we can work on it :)

install the libdbus-1-3-dbgsym. Either way, there are 146 new upgrades I
haven't installed so I'll install those and then libdbus-1-3-dbgsym and

[Bug 193227] [NEW] List characters by Unicode block by default

2008-02-19 Thread Vincent
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gucharmap

This might have already been handled as part of upstream bug 140414 [1] but I
didn't find any mention of it.
It would be great if gucharmap could remember the “List by Unicode Block”
setting. By default it lists characters by script but I always want them listed
by Unicode Block. It's a bit annoying to have to restore this setting at every
start.

Thanks for this great Linux distribution!

[Bug 185896] Re: gnome-screensaver (and gnome-screensaver-preferences) crash upon displaying Vlechtwerk screensaver

2008-02-19 Thread Tim Besard
Sadly no .Crash file is created, it seems more that the screensaver
hangs.

To provide some more information, I ran gnome-screensaver-preferences
(displaying the crashing screensaver) in strace, the log is included.
Detailled steps of what I did in this strace:
* Launch gnome-screensaver-preferences
* gnome-screensaver-preferences displays the crashing screensaver
(Vlechtwerk), as this is the current active screensaver
* The system hangs
* I press CONTROL-ALT-BACKSPACE
* The X server reboots 10 seconds after I have pressed the key combination

However, as the strace log looks normal and the application did not crash, I
ran gnome-screensaver-preferences through strace, but monitoring the strace my
self. That way I was able to spot where the application hangs:
*read(3, 0x8069fcc, 4096)= -1 EAGAIN (Resource temporarily
unavailable)
*read(3, 0x8069fcc, 4096)= -1 EAGAIN (Resource temporarily
unavailable)
*gettimeofday({1203409986, 844239}, NULL) = 0
*poll(
at that point gnome-screensaver-preferences hangs for about 10 seconds,
sometimes it proceedes a bit (to hang at a next similar occurence), sometimes
it hangs forever at that piece of code.

If I can provide more information, please say so.

crashing) gnome-screensaver-preferences

[Bug 145705] Re: Copy error does not show full name

2008-02-19 Thread Pedro Villavicencio
According to upstream:

This should be gone with 2.21.90. I just tested with a very very long filename
and the dialog is automatically expanded to handle the filename correctly.
Closing as OBSOLETE, please reopen the bug or open a new one if this still
happens with a recent (= 2.21) version of Nautilus, thanks!

[Bug 193232] [NEW] Remote Samba shares not showing up in Nautilus through network:///

2008-02-19 Thread Néstor Amigo Cairo
Public bug reported:

I'm having the same problems as in this closed bug:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/26933
The thing is that I open Nautilus, browse my Samba Network and it's empty. I
can connect directly to the server, but it does not get listed. Also, sometimes
they show up, but when I click on a Samba service, for example, to IP
192.168.0.2, a message tells me that I have to open it with some program,
because it's not a link!! (WTF). Then, it gets previewed as a text file.

I'm using Ubuntu Gutsy, 32bit for clients; server is a SuSE 10.2, Samba.
Windows Vista clients get it listed when I browse the network.
We're trying to switch to Linux in the company I work for, but we're having
trouble with Samba, so people's getting a bit angry.

Sometimes servers get listed, then I try to connect to them, but it's
impossible, because I'm not asked any password, nor user. It just gets empty
again.
I'm going to try to debug it someway (please, tell me how), and post some
screenshots.
