[Bug 197553] [NEW] gnome-terminal crashed with SIGSEGV
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 185838 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/185838 Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-terminal I upgraded from Gutsy to Hardy doing a dist-upgrade yesterday. I was just modifying the preferences for gnome-terminal when all instances of gnome-terminal died and this report was generated. The paramater that caused the problem was show menubar by default in new terminals. I got there by selecting edit current profile. Here is the wierd behavior and it seems to be reproducible. If there are three running instances of gnome-terminal I can toggle the show menubar back and forth without any trouble. If there are four running instances the same thing is true, but if I close the edit configuration down and delete one of the gnome-terminal instances, then edit the option again the three remaining instances of gnome-terminal die. [Bug 147298] Re: [Gutsy] AD198x Analog: microphone misconfigured
Are you sure that you have already tried this? 1) open gnome-volume-control (in a terminal i guess; can't find it in menus) 2) Edit - Preference , and check all the unchecked box 3) Make sure there is no item with it's volume at zero, or an icon barred by a red cross, including capture mux (in playback) and capture in recording. Actually you can do the same through the menus. Check that your sound selected device is the alsa one (alsa mixer) , not the OSS one (OSS mixer). And forget the test. Try it with your mic. [Bug 147298] Re: [Gutsy] AD198x Analog: microphone misconfigured
Hi Thanks for the answer:) But as I said, I tried every single solution suggested before. Besides I tried nearly every permutation of configurations. Nothing works at all! As I said, I tried onboard sound card, USB webcam-microphone and Diamond 7.1 sound card. And everytime I try to test my sound capture device, I get this: gconfaudiosrc ! audioconvert ! audioresample ! gconfaudiosink profile=chat: Could not open resource for writing. I also tried to launch them with gst launch, nothing happens This problem really annoys me, because ubuntu was the distro which solved my hardware problems, it was the only distro that could make my Nvidia 8600gt, other than Pardus. I mean, come on, if you can build an OS that can run video cards that other distros give you nightmare, why can not you make a simple thing such as microphone run??I can say, a lot of people probably have this problem, but since normally no one uses microphone as much as they use their video card:)), most people do not notice or they do no care even if they notice-it is not as vital as one's video card or printer of course.so that this problem does not come out as often as it should at least this what i guess, i might be wrong as well -- [Gutsy] AD198x Analog: microphone misconfigured https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/147298 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gstreamer0.10 in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

** Description changed: When I do an fstab smbfs mount through a network interface which is managed by NetworkManager, and then shutdown, the network connection is gone immediately, and then during shutdown the unmounting of the smbfs - file system hangs, probably because it doesn't get a response from the - server. I've obtained requested information, they are in the attachment. The bug reappeared followind this sequence: -Inserted an audio cd in my cd reader that is mounted on the virtual machine too -Automatically started soundjuicer -Few moment after appeared a small error window then a big one On the small one is written: Impossible to mount audio Disk The device /dev/scd0 doesn't contain audio file(s) The bigger one is the error segnalation for launchpad. At the end i want to notice that in sound juicer the names of the audio tracks appeared and that i can start the audio extraction but that it's really really slow (i think never ending.. sometimes it tries to guess the end time but it gives value like 600' for only one track!. Listening to my cd-dvd reader i can hear a continous start and stop of the read process) (obviouvsly these things don't happen on the host machine). ** Attachment added: lshal http://launchpadlibrarian.net/12350251/lshal -- gvfsd-cdda crashed with SIGSEGV in cdio_cddap_close_no_free_cdio() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/196692 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is the registrant for gvfs. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 134061] Re: brasero hangs on calculating size when burning audio
Hi Saïvann, The original bug was that Brasero dialog said that the size is being calculated. And that lasted forever. I haven't seen that problem anymore in the last version. So I think that one is resolved. So this morning I enabled gutsy backports (so not using the live CD anymore) and tried to burn 15 MP3's to an audio CD. That worked without a flaw. Still a bit slower than K3b. But no problems. Then I threw in that directory I told you about yesterday. 51 burnable items. That worked also... So I think that is good news. Brasero is still a fine program for less- geek users... I will install it this week for somebody. So I think the bug of yesterday is only in the Live CD or in Hardy A5... I will ask my colleague if we have a PC that can run the Alpha on a hard-drive. But we are also testing some Debian stuff... so I don't know if we have anything available. Let me know if you wish to track the new bug in the live cd. Anyway I find the original bug closed. -- brasero hangs on calculating size when burning audio https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/134061 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to brasero in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
