[Bug 206979] [NEW] Nautilus occasionally hangs when DnDing an item and passing over Network Servers
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus Description:Ubuntu hardy (development branch) Release:8.04 nautilus: Installed: 1:2.22.0-0ubuntu3 gvfs: Installed: 0.2.1-1ubuntu1 gvfs-backends: Installed: 0.2.1-1ubuntu1 Steps to reproduce: 1) Open a nautilus window with a Places sidepane. 2) Drag a file from your desktop into the main pane, passing over the Network Servers Places entry. Expected Behavior: Nothing should occur on passing over the Network Servers entry. Actual Behavior: Nautilus (and the entire UI, including mouse) hangs for a short time, possibly trying to perform some network operation that times out. No possibly-blocking action should be taken with regards to a drag and drop target until the drag is ended by releasing the mouse button. Oddly, as I write this bug, I can't seem to recreate it, so maybe I'm missing another triggering condition. However, it seems to be more than simply incidental, as I've noticed it many times in casual use. It should be noted that I am running Compiz, which may relate to my whole UI hanging instead of simply nautilus. ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Nautilus occasionally hangs when DnDing an item and passing over Network Servers https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/206979 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

actually the computer responded to 'sudo dpkg --configure -a' when I typed it in the terminal after receiving message 'E: dpkg was interrupted, youmust manually run 'sudo dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem'. This error message was followed by 'E: _cache-open() failed, please report'. I ran the dpkg --configure -a first, without reporting the other error because i didn't know how to report it. [Bug 204566] Re: Rhythmbox keeps trying to install codecs
I have studied the behaviour of this bug in the recent days, and found out that this does not seem to be a problem directly resulting from a problem with Rhythmbox. It occurs, because everytime I start Rhythmbox, it keeps reindexing certain files, which can't be imported at all. They are listed under Import Errors and deleted again when I close Ryhthmbox, while indexed again when I restart it. That is why this message box (although I don't try to start such a errenous song at all) is displayed all the time. This bug was fixed in the package f-spot - 0.4.2-1ubuntu1 --- f-spot (0.4.2-1ubuntu1) hardy; urgency=low * Sync on Debian * debian/control.in: - don't use beagle - updated maintainer information * debian/patches/importer_targetdir_selector.dpatch: - Add a target directory selector to the camera import dialog, so that people can continue to use their customized directory layout. [ James Westby ] * Change the fix from 0.4.1-4ubuntu4 to use a separate f-spot-import.desktop, as f-spot.desktop will not start f-spot if you pass it a directory. This happens when you use the context bar in nautilus to open f-spot from e.g. a CF card full of photos. There is already an f-spot command provided in the path. To use that we will create a new .desktop that is associated with those mimetypes and leave the normal f-spot.desktop to provide the menu item. [Bug 207046] [NEW] Search box behaves incorrectly when changing folders
Public bug reported: 2.22.0-0ubuntu2 in Hardy Heron, installed from Alpha 6 and continually updated. I have an IMAP account configured which has several folders as well as Inbox. If I type a search string to filter messages in Inbox, it filters them correctly and shows matching messages. If I then select another folder, without clearing the search box, the search box stays highlighted in blue (as if to indicate an active search), but with no search string, and no matching messages are displayed. It is not possible to clear the search box. It is necessary to switch back to Inbox, clear the search string there, and switch to the other folder again. This problem occurs when switching between any two folders, but _only_ if one of the folders has not previously had a search performed in it. Once a folder has been filtered using the search box, the problem described above does not appear again. ** Affects: evolution (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Search box behaves incorrectly when changing folders https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/207046 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 151145] Re: Evince print fails with Postscript driver
Corrected status and package assignments: The problem described here is that Ghostscript gets fed with broken PostScript and this leads Ghostscript to exit with an error. The broken PostScript comes from evince or whatever library generates PostScript for evince. The library is supplied by the gtk+2.0 package and therefore I raise the priority for this package. CUPS has no influence on this, therefore I am closing the CUPS task. -- Evince print fails with Postscript driver https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/151145 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 138629] Re: playing a CD on random does not play all tracks
comment from upstream: Did you check which of the random algorithms it was using? It should be using shuffle. Check the gconf key: /apps/rhythmbox/state/play_order it should be shuffle. If it is random, then it will play randomly without replacement (i.e. it might play the track more than once) which would account for the behaviour you are seeing. Unfortunately exactly what random algorithm used is not currently exposed in the UI (bug #163196) but I think it should use shuffle by default. ** Changed in: rhythmbox (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged = Incomplete -- playing a CD on random does not play all tracks https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/138629 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
