[Bug 212098] [NEW] easy file sharing not notifying about logout/login
You have been subscribed to a public bug: On Hardy Beta When trying to share a folder in nautilus it notifies that the samba package is not installed. It then installs the package. When you then try to share the folder again it notifies you that you do not have privilegies to share files and that you have to contact your administrator... This is not really true... The problem is that the user IS already added to the sambashare user group... but the computer has not been logged out or restarted... thus it does not notice that you really are allowed to do this. A warning that you have to restart or log out should be displayed, and NOT that you dont have the privilegies. ** Affects: nautilus-share (Ubuntu) Importance: High Assignee: Ubuntu Desktop Bugs (desktop-bugs) Status: Confirmed -- easy file sharing not notifying about logout/login https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/212098 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 112955] Re: vino (vnc) keyboard mapping problem
The workaround is not sufficient for everyone (certainly not me), since it has to be performed for every user. On multi-user systems, this can quickly become a problem. In addition, the workaround assumes that a US keyboard layout is OK for everyone, which is not the case when different layouts are used. I've tested tightvncserver and vnc4server, both showed the same symptoms. I also tested with a number of different clients: tightvnc on Windows, Chicken of the VNC on Mac OS, and xvnc4viewer on Gutsy. No difference. The problem only occurs when logged into Gnome: GDM and KDE work perfectly. The upstream bug equivalent to this one has been marked duplicated and upstream is likely to know better if they have the same cause, either the bug watch is pointing to a wrong bug or you should mark the bug duplicated. Again today, after dist-upgrade. But this time gdm was not upgraded, although xorg-driver-fglrx (which has atieventsd) was. [Bug 215643] [NEW] Evolution: Can't move email from/to mail folders on Xubuntu
Public bug reported: i've been having this problem since i started using evolution on Xubuntu on my notebook, that is, for 2 years now. i'm having evolution start up with a saved session on system start. when trying to drag'n'drop - move an email (or multiple) from, let's say the inbox, to another folder, the cursor shows a little x, meaning that i just can't move the email. so, when dragging it to some folder, it will just snap back to where it came from and not appear in the target folder. when i close evolution and restart it, all will be fine - email can be moved to wherever i want - well, within my folders, that is. same happens when i do not start evolution automatically on system startup and manually run it lateron - i can move email without any problem. no such problems occur on my desktop pc running Ubuntu/Gnome. os: Xubuntu hardy testing (also: gutsy, feisty) evolution: 2.22.1-0ubuntu2 (also: previous versions) system: acer travelmate 382tmi ** Affects: evolution (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Evolution: Can't move email from/to mail folders on Xubuntu https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/215643 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these instuctions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. I'm on a Compaq Presario V2610CA laptop with Ubuntu Hardy (Beta) and I'm experiencing the same problem, i.e. idle time is not respected for suspend/hibernate. The problem was also ocuring with Gutsy. I've looked in /apps/gnome-power-manager/actions/ and everything was right, i.e. set to suspend, as I set it in the gnome-power-manager applet. One interesting thing to note is that when I was using Kubuntu Gutsy (some weeks ago - I'm a switcher!) things were working right, i.e. idle time set for suspend in the KDE power manager utility was respected.
