[Bug 215472] Re: Darklooks gtkrc is broken [hardy]

2008-04-14 Thread Kristian
You can fix it by changing the two tooltip lines...

from:
...
181:bg[NORMAL] = @tooltip_bg_color
182:fg[NORMAL] = @tooltip_fg_color
...

to:
...
181:bg[NORMAL] = @tooltips_bg_color

[Bug 157207] Re: evolution-data-server keeps replicating my contacts in addressbook.db when syncing with Pidgin

2008-04-14 Thread hggdh
As far as I can remember, the Pidgin synchronisation plugin is extremely
simple, and the entries will have to match exactly (between Pidgin and
the Contacts). If they do not, then the plugin will re-add them. If you
have it running periodically... it may get worse. I think this was a bit
changed on 2.22, so indeed it would be good to test there.

Right now I would disable this plugin.

[Bug 217135] [NEW] sound-juicer doesn't allow creation of new profiles

2008-04-14 Thread Ron Adams
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: sound-juicer

When I try to make a new profile for output format in sound-juicer, it
does not allow me to select it as the preferred format, even if I check
the active box. I reinstalled the gstreamer plugins, which re-created
the original (FLAC, ogg, speex, WAV) profiles, but nothing re-creates
the MP3 profiles. If I make them myself, either through sound-juicer or
using a script like
[url=http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=2009576postcount=2]this
one[/url], they are never recognized in sound-juicer, even though I set
their permissions the same as the others in that folder.

Attached is an example mp3 profile not accessible via the menu (gnome-
audio-profiles-properties), even though it is correct.

Declining for hardy, changing the design is an upstream task for next

the nautilus item could be an option, but those are still in a tab and
it would not be obvious for users this way either

[Bug 216953] Re: Feature request: Gphoto2 plugin in gvfs-0.2.3u1 missing

2008-04-14 Thread martinp
Ah yeah, thank you for your valuable input. No need to be rude... I read the
changelog and having read my request would suggest, that I did, because I
already referred to the existing bug.
Nonetheless I cannot really confirm this issue as I intensively make use of
this plugin and never had any locking issues described there. If you think we
have an issue (bug) here that conflicts with my request feel free to close this
request. I will then compile and host the debs myself.

Thank you.

[Bug 216953] Re: Feature request: Gphoto2 plugin in gvfs-0.2.3u1 missing

2008-04-14 Thread Sebastien Bacher
I don't think that I've been rude and it was not my intend, but you ask
fir the plugin was intended to not be built or if that was a mistake,
the changelog is pretty clear about those. We get hundred of bugs every
bugs and the team is really small so we try to deal quickly with user
questions and focus on issues. Anyway to reply to your question about
the locking issue, mount your camera using gvfs and then try to get
photos from it using f-spot or an another application using gphoto, you
will get a locking error. The other issue is that the software have not
been ported to gvfs, which means than double clicking on a picture in a
gvfs location will give you an error about the URI not being correct,
which is confusing and gives users an impression to get buggy non tested
softwares, that's why we prefer stay to working methods for this cycle
and continue gvfs work next cycle and ship it when standard applications
will use gvfs rather

Re: [Bug 215541] Re: Imap mail Filtering broken as of 11/04/08

2008-04-14 Thread JP Foster
Created new user and that worked.
Reset evolution settings for my account
gconftool-2 --unset-recursive evolution

Re-added the accounts and filtering works now.

So it works from a blank install but you might see other
upgrade issue. Unfortunately I don't know how to restore
the old settings. You can consider it closed I suppose unless
there are others with the same problem.

[Bug 113092] Re: nautilus in feisty can't open http:// URI which affects service-discovery-applet

2008-04-14 Thread Franck
The bug is still here in Hardy beta, as of 14 apr. 2008.

service-discovery-applet shows me one entry, as :

Web Site hp LaserJet 2340 [881A7A]

If I select this entry, I get the following error message :

Impossible d'afficher « http://NPI881A7A.local:80/ ».
L'emplacement n'est pas un dossier

(Unable to display « http://NPI881A7A.local:80/ ».
The location is not a forlder)

From a terminal, gnome-open http://NPI881A7A.local:80/ works just fine.
But if I enter the same address in nautilus, I get the very same message as
from the applet.
This kind of defeat the purpose of a Just Working zeroconf browser.

I have no other service to test right now, but I guess including MattJ
work-around (use gnome-open instead of nautilus) at least for _http._tcp
service would be cool to do for Hardy, would'n it ?

2008-04-14 Thread Fishonadish
I forgot to add that this looks similar to Bug #207588, but with png
images disappearing in different circumstances.

[Bug 217196] [NEW] Totem-gstreamer produces artifacts during encoding

2008-04-14 Thread Tim Fuchs
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: totem

Totem randomly shows artifacts when watching a video. Look at the
screenshot I attached and you'll know what I mean.

This isn't a problem with the video itself, when I rewind and play the
exact section again it's fine.

I don't know very much about video encoding but it seems to me that
there is problem with handling the different types of frames. GStreamer
seems to drop key-frames so that alterations made to that frame will
actually be applied to an older, wrong key-frame, producing a garbled
picture.

[Bug 217196] Re: Totem-gstreamer produces artifacts during encoding

2008-04-14 Thread pt123
I can confirm it too

When playing xvid files there isn't a smooth play back in the video.
Parts of the picture will get blurry every so often.

It has more do with decoding because if you play back around the
position where this occurred, the picture is fine.

I don't get this problem in Smplayer.

[Bug 214347] Re: Cannot change wallpaper after showing/hiding desktop

2008-04-14 Thread Smegzor
I've been running Webilder since before this bug appeared. I never had a
problem on Ubuntu amd64 7.10
With the bug in force, Webilder cannot change the wallpaper, neither can Gnome.
Gnome registry gets updated but the change only occurs if I restart X.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'its doing what I'm asking for' I want to
be able to change the wallpaper whether or not Gnome is displaying the
desktop. My understanding is that the setting show_desktop shows or
hides desktop icons, but the desktop wallpaper which is visible either
way, should be changeable at all times. My experience is that wallpaper
is only changeable with show_desktop enabled.

When I upgraded, I first did a distribution upgrade but that failed, so
then i used the Hardy cd keeping my home partition intact. Since
encountering the wallpaper bug, I have hidden .gconf to force Gnome to
rebuild it. I hope this info helps.

[Bug 153572] Re: Merge 2.10.8-1 from debian unstable

2008-04-14 Thread Tormod Volden
Yes, Gnome packages usually get updated regularly and long into the
development cycle. I guess this one was missed because it's not
installed by default any longer and is not given priority (IMHO sad
since I find it much better than eog). And finally, someone has to sit
down and do the merge, that is, ensure that previous Ubuntu changes are
brought along if needed.

Personally, if I knew, I would have worked on this earlier, but now with
Hardy frozen, I am not gonna do that merge if I am not sure my work will
be accepted into Hardy.

[Bug 207450] Re: rhythmbox crashes after pressing pause and then play and next song

2008-04-14 Thread Benjamin_L
The patch doesn't seem big, not as big as the firefox beta updates so
any specific issues about fixing fixed bugs *before* a LTS release?

[Bug 217177] [NEW] Some pngs don't display in Epiphany or Firefox

2008-04-14 Thread Fishonadish
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: epiphany-browser

Some png images are failing to display in Epiphany - a white space of
the appropriate size appears instead. I noticed this on this page:
http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/hardy/beta; the images transmission-
gtk.png and brasero.png display in this manner. I can still right-click
and open the image in Eye of Gnome and it displays.

I tried opening the above URL in firefox and got the same issue, so I
assume the problem is occuring in xulrunner.

Information:

Ubuntu hardy (development branch)
Release:8.04

Package versions:
xulrunner-1.9 - 1.9~b5+nobinonly-0ubuntu1
epiphany-browser: 2.22.1.1-0ubuntu1

[Bug 209468] Re: unsure of nature xubuntu ISSUE

2008-04-14 Thread Lionel Le Folgoc
 Backtrace was generated from '/usr/libexec/evolution-alarm-notify'

Reassigning to evolution, but /usr/libexec doesn't really sound like a
debian-fhs-compliant path.

** Changed in: evolution (Ubuntu)
Sourcepackagename: xubuntu-meta = evolution
