[Bug 157207] Re: evolution-data-server keeps replicating my contacts in addressbook.db when syncing with Pidgin
As far as I can remember, the Pidgin synchronisation plugin is extremely simple, and the entries will have to match exactly (between Pidgin and the Contacts). If they do not, then the plugin will re-add them. If you have it running periodically... it may get worse. I think this was a bit changed on 2.22, so indeed it would be good to test there. [Bug 216953] Re: Feature request: Gphoto2 plugin in gvfs-0.2.3u1 missing
I don't think that I've been rude and it was not my intend, but you ask fir the plugin was intended to not be built or if that was a mistake, the changelog is pretty clear about those. We get hundred of bugs every bugs and the team is really small so we try to deal quickly with user questions and focus on issues. Anyway to reply to your question about the locking issue, mount your camera using gvfs and then try to get photos from it using f-spot or an another application using gphoto, you will get a locking error. The other issue is that the software have not been ported to gvfs, which means than double clicking on a picture in a gvfs location will give you an error about the URI not being correct, which is confusing and gives users an impression to get buggy non tested softwares, that's why we prefer stay to working methods for this cycle and continue gvfs work next cycle and ship it when standard applications will use gvfs rather -- Feature request: Gphoto2 plugin in gvfs-0.2.3u1 missing https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/216953 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

But if I enter the same address in nautilus, I get the very same message as from the applet. This kind of defeat the purpose of a Just Working zeroconf browser. [Bug 217196] [NEW] Totem-gstreamer produces artifacts during encoding
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: totem Totem randomly shows artifacts when watching a video. Look at the screenshot I attached and you'll know what I mean. This isn't a problem with the video itself, when I rewind and play the exact section again it's fine. I don't know very much about video encoding but it seems to me that there is problem with handling the different types of frames. GStreamer seems to drop key-frames so that alterations made to that frame will actually be applied to an older, wrong key-frame, producing a garbled picture. ** Affects: totem (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Totem-gstreamer produces artifacts during encoding https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/217196 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to totem in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

I can confirm it too When playing xvid files there isn't a smooth play back in the video. Parts of the picture will get blurry every so often. [Bug 214347] Re: Cannot change wallpaper after showing/hiding desktop
I've been running Webilder since before this bug appeared. I never had a problem on Ubuntu amd64 7.10 With the bug in force, Webilder cannot change the wallpaper, neither can Gnome. Gnome registry gets updated but the change only occurs if I restart X. I'm not sure what you mean by 'its doing what I'm asking for' I want to be able to change the wallpaper whether or not Gnome is displaying the desktop. My understanding is that the setting show_desktop shows or hides desktop icons, but the desktop wallpaper which is visible either way, should be changeable at all times. My experience is that wallpaper is only changeable with show_desktop enabled. When I upgraded, I first did a distribution upgrade but that failed, so then i used the Hardy cd keeping my home partition intact. Since encountering the wallpaper bug, I have hidden .gconf to force Gnome to rebuild it. Yes, Gnome packages usually get updated regularly and long into the development cycle. I guess this one was missed because it's not installed by default any longer and is not given priority (IMHO sad since I find it much better than eog). And finally, someone has to sit down and do the merge, that is, ensure that previous Ubuntu changes are brought along if needed. Re: [Bug 209271] Re: gvfs-smb: strange timeouts
Ludicrous. AFAIK there is at least another person with this problem, bug #210746, which is _also_ tagged as incomplete even though the submitter did everything you asked from him/her and nobody has answered in a week. But it's OK, I don't want to start the typical this is why Linux/Ubuntu/GNOME will not (whatever) flame. Just tell me where to report this bug upstream and I'll be gone. [Bug 217177] [NEW] Some pngs don't display in Epiphany or Firefox
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: epiphany-browser Some png images are failing to display in Epiphany - a white space of the appropriate size appears instead. I noticed this on this page: http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/hardy/beta; the images transmission- gtk.png and brasero.png display in this manner. I can still right-click and open the image in Eye of Gnome and it displays. I tried opening the above URL in firefox and got the same issue, so I assume the problem is occuring in xulrunner.
