[Bug 261757] [NEW] nautilus does not open *.svg files directly
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus In the file properties *.svg files have Inkscape marked in open with dialog However, when I double click I get that the dialog (maybe is bad translated to english) Do you want to open file or wiew its content: file is a text executable: open in a shell - show - cancel -execute If I press execute, nothing happens. But moreover, Inkscape is not in the 5 program first list, so I have to select open with another app (where Inkscape is 3rd in the long list) If I mark *.pdf files open with Inkscape, it opens the pdf in Inkscape directly Regards, Dan Ubuntu 8.04 Athlon 1300, 756mb RAM, Radeon 7500 (Dual view) ProblemType: Bug Architecture: i386 Date: Wed Aug 27 09:09:27 2008 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 8.04 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/nautilus Package: nautilus 1:2.22.3-0ubuntu2 PackageArchitecture: i386 ProcEnviron: PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games LANG=es_ES.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: nautilus Uname: Linux 2.6.24-19-generic i686 ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug -- nautilus does not open *.svg files directly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/261757 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 261780] [NEW] MacBook Pro: No square brackets - wrong keyboard layout
Public bug reported: On a German PC keyboard, usually square brackets are produced as follows: AltGr + 8: squared bracket open AltGr + 9: squared bracket close. MacBooks Pros have no printed indication on the keys how to produce square brackets (AFAIK this goes for all models), so I assumed you could produce them the PC way. I assumed that the key second right to the space key (= the one left from the LeftArrow key - you can see this nicely on http://www.oliverherrmann.com/stuff/mbp/MBP02.jpg) would have the function of the AltGr key you know from PCs. However, when I press this key whose name I don't know, plus 8 or 9, I get no square brackets. Instead, this key works as Return key. This goes for Ubuntu 8.10 Alpha 4, fully updated. Ubuntu installed, then System - Prefrences - Keyboard - MacBook / MacBook Pro (Intel). [Bug 252174] Re: gvfsd-trash crashed with SIGSEGV in g_main_context_dispatch()
Ubuntu 8.10 x86 LiveCD Alpha-4 release (kernel 2.6.26.5-generic) As a non-expert user I just had difficulty finding a PC that would actually load this LiveCD session and it then wouldn't allow 'at' key entry for logging in to make this report (I had to use Ctrl_V of a text file created on another working PC to do that) The Alpha-4 x86 LiveCD wouldn't even load on an E2160 or on an E4600 based PC. Fortunately, I had someone's old 2.8GHz Northwood PC that I could try and it promptly generated this error report. [Bug 209520] Re: SMB error: Unable to mount location when server configured with security=share
I have the following problem, testing with Ubuntu 8.10 Alpha 4+, trying to connect to a company SMB network server share. Nautilus tells me: Could not display smb://servername/myshare$/ - Einhängen des Ortes nicht möglich. This worked ok when I used 8.04. However, nautilus shows the share as mounted (gets a shortcut on the left side, as a cd would which has been inserted into a local drive). When I press the eject (unmount) button for this share, I sometimes get the following error message: Could not display smb://servername/myshare$/. Fehler: DBus error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.InvalidArgs: Mountpoint Already registered - Bitte wählen Sie einen anderen Betrachter und versuchen Sie es erneut. I entered my account data the first time I tried to connect. Strangely enough, in the properties you can see how many files there are on this share and how much data there is all in all, but the file list cannot be displayed. I reported this bug under https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/216465. However, going more into it, I think this was the wrong thread to report this to. [Bug 261516] [NEW] Changing keyboard layout to Macintosh failed
You have been subscribed to a public bug: affects ubuntu In a fresh installation of Hardy, fully up-to-date, with no previous ~/.* files, I cannot change to the correct keyboard layout. This means that I can't type a hash, which can be important when programming :) This follows a problem I had a few days ago where I pressed a key on the keypad and the keyboard layout went completely wrong. Most of the keys didn't work at all, and some of the letter keys were recognised as numbers. Changing the keyboard layout did not help, nor did rebooting. I deleted all the ~/.gconf* and ~/.gnome directories, then logged in again, and that worked. While the keyboard layout was completely b0rked, I did manage to run the commands suggested in the error message, and they came out as pasted at the end. This is the same as the more recent but less eventful layout failure. I'm using a one of the newish Apple keyboards, the thin ones, connected by USB. The error message: Error activating XKB configuration. It can happen under various circumstances: - a bug in libxklavier library - a bug in X server (xkbcomp, xmodmap utilities) - X server with incompatible libxkbfile implementation X server version data: The X.Org Foundation 10400090 $ xprop -root | grep XKB _XKB_RULES_NAMES_BACKUP(STRING) = xorg, pc105, gb, mac, _XKB_RULES_NAMES(STRING) = xorg, pc105, gb, mac, $ gconftool-2 -R /desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/kbd layouts = [] model = macintosh overrideSettings = true options = [] ** Affects: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Confirmed -- Changing keyboard layout to Macintosh failed https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/bugs/261516 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
