[Bug 262910] [NEW] GDM asks for password twice during login
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gdm Running the latest Intrepid packages (gdm=2.20.7-0ubuntu4, GDM always displays the password prompt twice after I enter a username. And it start to annoys, a big time. [Bug 262910] Re: GDM asks for password twice during login
I have been running Intrepid since Alpha 1 and keep the system up to date. This first started occurring several weeks ago, I neglected to report it then, assuming it was a wider-spread issue and would be quickly resolved. Unfortunately that means that I have no leads on what specific update caused the problem. I'm not aware of having made any config changes, and I just tried reinstalling a number of packages to try to restore default configs, but there was no change. [Bug 263012] Re: Opening a folder link should show the path to the folder
I think you are confusing symbolic links with 'links' in Windows. The two concepts are very different. Have a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Symbolic_link for a brief explanation of symbolic links in Linux. Symbolic links are meant to operate completely transparently to the applications that are using them, and are a feature of POSIX operating systems. A lot of things rely on the functionality provided by symbolic links, and you couldn't just change the behaviour of them. If you want an icon on your desktop that behaves like a Windows shortcut, then you need to right click and create a new launcher as opposed to creating a symbolic link. If you wanted a launcher to point to /home/foo/bar, then the command required in the launcher would be: nautilus --no-desktop /home/foo/bar I'm closing this bug report as it doesn't really describe a bug. [Bug 262972] Re: totem-gstreamer-video-indexer crashed with SIGSEGV in g_object_set_valist()
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately we can't fix it, , because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read How to report bugs effectively http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures At a minimum, we need: 1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem, 2. the behavior you expected, and 3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). [Bug 260939] Re: Window list missing items on second monitor
Got another comment to add to this after spotting something today. If I swap to a different workspace, all of my windows then appear on the window list on the primary monitor (and disappear from the new list on the second monitor). So items on the second monitor only disappear from the window list if I'm currently viewing the workspace they're on... -- Window list missing items on second monitor https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/260939 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
