[Bug 104807] Re: Support for Videos
I like F-Spot, but as the typical family snapshot photographer, I need be able to watch the occasional video, too. Funny thing is that F-Spot does show thumbnails of the avi vids, when it downloads the files from my camera (canon powershot). Why can't it show the same thumbnails later, and use an external viewer to play the videos. Digikam does this easily, so I had to switch to Digikam. [Bug 268012] Re: gnome-terminal ignores some custom alt+letter keyboard shortcuts
This is unsurprising given the ALT key is used to bring the menus up. So ALT+T brings up the 'Terminal' menu, and ALT+V brings up the 'view' menu. So in effect you have ALT+T assigned to two things. Perhaps gnome- terminal should realise this and either refuse to let you make the configuration change, or use a different key to bring up the menus. -- gnome-terminal ignores some custom alt+letter keyboard shortcuts https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/268012 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-terminal in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 135548] Re: [Gutsy] Action on critical battery isn't triggered - regression
Jo, Well make it a week or two. Running the computer with the electrical cord in place does not count (although it does add data about how the battery charges). You can check the progress by right clicking g-p-m in the system tray, selecting power history and then in that box (near the bottom), select discharge time accuracy profile. when the average value of that graph is over 40%, stuff will start working. What my patch does it fix the gap before it starts working. First and foremost, caring about the profile even when use_time_for_policy is disabled is just weird, since the profile doesn't add anything to the mix at that point. Then, not telling the user anything about this thing with ignoring actions is just a bad idea, there's no warning anywhere. I actually fell into the trap myself a few days ago, after installing ubuntu on my new laptop. Thank god no data was lost, because I was in the middle of doing quite a lot. I still think this is a bug, since a developer put in this accuracy check for a good cause (some broken ACPI's could make the computer hibernate way too early, according to the changelog), but probably didn't think about what would happen until the accuracy profile was good enough. And yes, you can enable use_time_for_policy again. -- [Gutsy] Action on critical battery isn't triggered - regression https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/135548 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-power-manager in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 259799] Re: Suggestion: support for ecryptfs in Nautilus
I feel that unless these integration issues are clearly resolved the Private folder will become a usability debacle. I think that unless there is really good integration this feature should not be enabled by default. 1. Presentation: to much technical wording at the moment, too much understanding of underlying mechanisms required 2. It's an irregular mount, unlike fstab or gvfs mounts. Not handled by nautilus unmount mechanisms; the copy not move issue, etc 3. Suid root, and hence not configurable and no localization possible 4. Filenames are not encrypted. This is suboptimal for a secure file vault feature. 5. Should be locked/unlocked in situ, i.e., directly in the view of the Private folder. [Bug 42571] Re: eog won't delete images on different volume
eog uses gio now and the code issue is likely a different one and could be a gio bug This is not a useful response. As an end user, this functionality is broken, and has always been broken. I don't know or really care what gio is. Whichever library the problem is in, it is still a bug which I see in eog, and only in eog. If the underlying reason for the bug has changed, that's fine. But the bug still remains, so saying it is fixed is inappropriate and untrue. -- eog won't delete images on different volume https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/42571 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

thank you for your work on this update, some notes: - you should describe the changes in the changelog, ie if you add a libcanberra build-depends it should be listed there - there is no need to list the patches which are still applied since those are not changes in the new version - the new version doesn't use gnome-vfs, the control.in should be updated to reflect that, the libglade requirement also need to be updated could you do those changes and update the bug? ** Changed in: xchat-gnome (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged = Incomplete -- Please upgrade to 0.23.92 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/268079 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
