[Bug 97585] Re: [apport] alacarte crashed with TypeError in on_item_tree_drag_data_get()

2008-09-10 Thread Mackenzie Morgan
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be
reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the
development release - Intrepid Ibex. It would help us greatly if you
could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next
release of Ubuntu. You can find out more about the development release
at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/ . Thanks again and we appreciate your
help.

[Bug 183514] Re: [hardy] seahorse agent no longer asks for the passphrase

2008-09-10 Thread Olaf Lenz
I'm using kubuntu intrepid alpha 5. Unfortunately, I seem not to be able to
start KDE anymore, due to some bug in this alpha version.
Therefore I'm currently unable to check whether seahorse works.

KDE doesn't bring a corresponding daemon, but uses gpg-agent and ssh-agent
instead. Unfortunately, ssh-agent does not automatically ask for the passphrase
to unlock the keyring when ssh is used, but ask for the passphrase for this
single session instead. That's why I prefer seahorse.
Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

[Bug 268441] Re: delete action moves the folder under selection to trash without any warning/message

2008-09-10 Thread Chris Coulson
I'm not sure I agree with you there. If the file was going to be
immediately deleted with no chance of recovery, then I would expect a
warning message. However, the whole point of having a trash can is that
it gives you a chance to restore files that you accidentally deleted or
didnt want to delete, later on. I think a warning message in addition to
this is just unnecessary.

[Bug 230457] Re: [Hardy] [gdm ?] Apparently random crashes with completly hang of the machine mostly on startup with errors in loading gdm-applets

2008-09-10 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal
with as a '.crash' file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report
a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer.

If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport
in /etc/default/apport and restart.

If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus
and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report
you wish to submit.

If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using
/usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a
terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report.
I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will
automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently.
Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

[Bug 245809] [NEW] [hardy] Unlock button not in dialog

2008-09-10 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Binary package hint: policykit-gnome

Went into User Settings, choosed a user and opened Properties. In the tab
User Privileges it looks like one can actually change the settings (which is
confusing). The real annoying thing is - if I get that I have to unlock first I
cannot do this in the dialog right away. I have to close the Properties
dialog, hit the Unlock button, enter the Password, hit ok, open Properties
again, go to tab User Privileges again and start editing.
So my proposal is that every dialog where one has to unlock before being able
to edit anything gets his own Unlock button.

[Bug 268486] [NEW] message area doesn't use tool tip's colors

2008-09-10 Thread jorge cob
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gedit

The message area uses tool tip's background color but no the font color.

Example:

My tool tip's colors are:
- background: black

colors show in the message area (see attachment)
- background: black
- foreground: black

I suggest that the message area uses the same tool tip's colors

[Bug 239952] Re: firefox - the associated helper application does not exist

2008-09-10 Thread TJ
Results of testing Mozilla bug #40 patch (v3).

.txt file
Content-Type: plain/text

Helper chooser dialog suggests to open with gedit.desktop. However, if
Other... is selected from the list, and the file-browser dialog cancelled,
Open With displays Text Editor (default).

If the OK button is pressed when gedit-desktop is displayed no error
is reported but no helper is launched. If the OK button is pressed
when Text Editor (default) is displayed, the Download Error dialog
appears and reports that the helper application can't be launched - in
other words, the same problem as reported by this bug originally.

.gz file
Content-Type: unknown/unknown

Helper choose dialig suggests to open firefox 3.0.1. However, if
Other... is selected from the list, and the file-browser dialog
cancelled, Open with displays Archive Manager (default).

If the OK button is pressed when either firefox 3.0.1 or Archive
Manager (default) is displayed the Download Error dialog appears and
reports that the helper application can't be launched.

.pdf
Content-Type: application/pdf

Helper chooser dialog suggests to open Document Viewer (default).
Pressing the OK button launches the helper application (evince) as
expected.

So, in summary, the mozilla patch doesn't solve the issue and, if
anything, makes it more confusing.
