[Bug 303384] [NEW] don't display podcasts in the music library

2008-11-29 Thread David Prieto
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

Rhythmbox seems to default podcast downloads to ~/Music now. While this
seems a good choice to me, it causes the library to show the downloaded
podcasts in the library.

I consider podcasts and entirely different thing from my music
collection and I don't want them mixed. Could RB recognise podcasts that
are in its provider list and hide them from the music library?

[Bug 303389] [NEW] view → notification a rea icon

2008-11-29 Thread David Prieto
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

Transmission lets you choose whether to see the notification area icon
or not, through a checkbox in the view menu. So you go to View →
Notification area icon to enable or disable it.

It would be cool to have the same feature in RB, for people who like an
uncluttered notification area.

They're definitely not _all_ the same issue - the CTRL-ALT-L key

The issue I have is that the Microsoft-keyboard specific keys don't work

[Bug 303427] [NEW] ellipsize edit buttons in the sidebar

2008-11-29 Thread David Prieto
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: f-spot

I'm using f-spot 0.5.0.3 on Jaunty. Since the edit buttons were moved to
the sidebar, it seems not to be wide enough for them so a horizontal
scrollbar appears (see attached screenshot).

I think the buttons' names should be ellipsized if the sidebar is too
thin for them, thus avoiding having both vertical and horizontal
scrollbars in such a limited space.

I did not forward this bug, I just noted in launchpad that it should be

report the bug number back here.

Thanks,

SV: [Bug 298554] Re: Rhythmbox 0.11.6 crashes when trying to play an audio CD

2008-11-29 Thread Pablo W
Hi Pedro,
Thanks for your answer and sorry for my late reply. I am completely new with
this. I don't know what I did, but the problem was solved. I'm sorry I was not
organised enough to keep track of what I did so that other people can make use
of it.
I'm definitely liking Ubuntu, so I will try to be more systematic the next time
I report something. Actually, I have just posted a thread (WD My Passport
Essential installation, thread 6274529) where I will try to go slowly in every
step I take.

Cheers,
Pablo.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or
challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these
instuctions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be
dealt with by the automatic retracer.

If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch
nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on
the crash report you wish to submit.

I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will
automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more
efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

[Bug 303456] [NEW] eog doesn't use print size of picture

2008-11-29 Thread Syrion
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: eog

When printing a jpg picture with eog, the print size is not the expected print
size for this picture.
example : I have a jpeg photo of my ID card. The pixel size is 800x1120. Gimp
report it to have a print size of 105,28x147,40mm with a 193pixel/in
resolution. It is because the resolution was adjusted to match printing size
with real size. When you choose to print with Gimp, the print preview and the
actual printing are showing a real-sized ID card.
With eog, the print preview and the actual printing are showing a picture that
take a full A4 page instead of only 105x147mm of the page.

So eog should use the recorded resolution of a picture to print right-
sized picture instead of full-page picture (at least when resolution is
recorded in the picture file and this resolution give a resulting size
page size).

This enhancement would be great as users (IMHO) expect to get a printed
copy of a document with the same size as the original scanned document.
So the resolution recorded in picture file by scanner software or by
user with image manipulation software (gimp, photoshop, etc...) through
an option like printing size sould pe used by the software used for
printing (in our case eog).

[Bug 230163] Re: gnome-sudoku should be removed from ubuntu repos

2008-11-29 Thread Jason D. Clinton
I am upstream. The issue is that gnome-sudoku is still in your repos.
despite being told repeatedly (elsewhere) to remove it. gnome-sudoku is
part of Gnome Games now and uses the same .py files and paths that the
(very) old gnome-sudoku uses. This is a case that python-support cannot
handle correctly. That is the issue and that is why there is so much
confusion over this bug.

[Bug 295795] [NEW] ISO burn on Intrepid with Brasero will not mount

2008-11-29 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

mount properly on Ubuntu 8.10. When you try to mount the iso disk
(created on Ubuntu 8.10) on Ubuntu 8.10 the following entries fill up
the messages log:

I assume it eventually times out because the following message pops up
in a dialog box:

DBus error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Did not receive a reply.
Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply,
the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout
expired, or the network connection was broken.

This happened with four new CD-RW disks that I burned on Ubuntu 8.10. The same
four disk re-burned on Ubuntu 8.04 mounted properly on Ubuntu 8.10 The same
cdrom drive is used on Ubuntu 8.04 and Ubuntu 8.10. The drive information is
listed below.

This may be a DBus problem instead of a Brasero one!! What else can I
provide to help solve this problem.
