[Bug 310854] Re: Printing Photos with Canon original drivers stopped working in Intrepid
krisse, the Poppler packages in -proposed fix a problem of printing big photos (large format and/or high resolution) on any printer where the pdftops CUPS filter is called somewhere in the filter chain. These are all PostScript printers, the printers using the foo2... drivers (foo2zjs package), and most printers using a third-party driver (driver not shipped with Ubuntu). The fix corrects the PostScript which the pdftops filter generates, as originally for large images invalid PostScript was produced. -- Printing Photos with Canon original drivers stopped working in Intrepid https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/310854 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to eog in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 318508] Re: Unable to mount ISO file using Archive Mounter
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a '.crash' file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit. If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using /usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. [Bug 318694] [NEW] gthumb is called with --import-photos on any directory
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus I am not sure who is the culprit here, I wrote nautilus as a guess. I have a directory full of images on my desktop. I right click on it, because I use to open it with Gthumb. However, after upgrading to Ubuntu 8.10, Nautilus does not seem to remember this. So I choose Open with other application and select Gthumb. Unfortunately, this does not work as expected, because for some reason Gthumb is called with the --import- photos option, so instead of opening the directory it tries to import photos from a camera. ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- gthumb is called with --import-photos on any directory https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/318694 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 197762] Re: file transfers on USB disk are very slow
noatime, nodirtime hasn't improved the situation on my PC much, if at all. Copying speed is still all over the place, one time it'll copy fine, the next it stalls every couple of megabytes, blocking file i/o to any other device connected to the system and stalling the gui. I've noticed that it affects devices differently. The following are listed in order of most likely stall to least likely: network file transfers, my collection of USB flash drives, 1 USB HDD, 3.5 USB HDD. Maybe it's device speed related? For those trying to escalate the problem, I hit a brick wall last year trying to do the same. I was basically told to give it up because it's going to take a kernel developer who has been afflicted by the bug, and who notices it, to fix it.
