[Bug 327814] [NEW] fast-user-switch-applet complains about gedit preventing restart
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Binary package hint: fast-user-switch-applet Found in Fast User Switch Applet 2.24.0/Ubuntu 9.04 Alpha. If gedit is open, the Fast User Switch Applet will not allow me to do a quick restart - it shows a dialog that says that Text Editor is blocking log out. This happens even when I have no unsaved changes in gedit. How to reproduce: 1) Make sure you have gedit open, with no unsaved changes. 2) Click on the Fast User Switch Applet icon. 3) Choose Restart from the pull-down menu. Expected behavior: The system should initiate a restart. Actual behavior: A caption-less dialog appears, having the text A program is still running and showing the gedit icon. 100 % reproducible. If I choose Restart from the dialog that comes up when I choose Shutdown from the System menu, I don't get the same blocking behavior. Therefore I'm reporting this problem on the fast-user-switch-applet package, although there might just as well be something in gedit that's causing it. ** Affects: gedit (Ubuntu) Importance: Low Status: Incomplete -- fast-user-switch-applet complains about gedit preventing restart https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/bugs/327814 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gedit in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

I encountered a similar problem to what Diego described above. I assigned 5 global_keybindings for Metacity via gconf-editor. 2 of the keybindings launch their assigned programs beautifully, but 3 of the keybindings will only launch their assigned programs after I run the metacity --replace command. (Running the metacity --replace command is problematic itself though because it hangs that terminal tab and never returns the command-line prompt in that tab, and aborting that terminal tab crashes Metacity.) -- metacity does not load keybindings on start https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/255475 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to metacity in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 327809] Re: evolution crashed in libegroupwise
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a '.crash' file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit. If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using /usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. This bug is specific to Intrepid for which gimp is already in version 2.6.x. This backport to intrepid is simply a bug fix release. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are uncertain if they are bugs.
