Yeah, theres a lot of weird things going on in that gdb. [Bug 335617] Re: Empty trash button in Nautilus disabled
Is it reproducible? I did not found out yet an exact way to reproduce the bug, but it happens quite often. Of course, after moving some file to the trash. There is, however, one other thing which might deserve its own bug report, but maybe it is also related to this. After I delete some file from the desktop, either using the Move to trash menu command or simply pressing the Delete key, the file gets in the trash, but the trash applet does not change its appearance to signal that it is not empty anymore. What Ubuntu version do you use? I use Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex), all updates applied. [Bug 335924] Re: System Preferences Windows broken with Compiz
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. You can learn more about finding the right package at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage . I have classified this bug as a bug in gnome-control-center. For future reference you might be interested to know that a lot of applications have bug reporting functionality built in to them. This can be accessed via the Report a Problem option in the Help menu for the application with which you are having an issue. [Bug 335980] [NEW] Cannot narrow sidebar
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution I like having Evolution's sidebar as narrow as possible. When I switch to Calendar view, it is automatically expanded to fit a little calendar. However, when I switch back to Mail, I cannot narrow it again until I restart Evolution. My English is not very good, so see the attached image for clarification. I know that the window must fit the widgets, but I think it does not need to fit hidden components, just like those View details things that change the size of dialogs. BandD, I am running Ubuntu 8.10 now and the included gpm seems to have the right behavior for me. [Bug 334347] Re: evolution crashed when opening preference dialog
There is no bug, it is problem in packaging libical. I can not reproduce this bug after installing libical from source. Also there is no crash after clicking on Calendar, Memo or Tasks icon. -- evolution crashed when opening preference dialog https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/334347 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 336034] [NEW] Cannot copy and paste a file on remote PC
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: vinagre This bug was reported here: http://bugzilla.gnom10.org/show_bug.cgi?id=570801 I am told that is has been fixed in more recent versions of Gnome. It does not occur in Ubuntu 8.10. How does the fix get back ported into Ubuntu 8.04 LTS a (which is supposed to be supported through April 2011)? Here is the issue: I am running vinagre 0.5.1 on Ubuntu 8.04 with all current patches. I connect to another Ubuntu 8.04 machine. I can right click and copy a file on the remote machine however, when I attempt to right click and paste the file to another location on the remote machine the paste option is grayed out. I can drag and drop the same file between two locations no problem. I can copy and paste the file in question if I access the machine locally or use tsclient 0.150 for the remote access. It appears that this issue only involves copying and pasting files. I can copy and paste text within gedit for example. I have confirmed this on 2 remote Ubuntu 8.04 machines. The problem does NOT occur when I access a remote Ubuntu 7.10 machine - I can copy and paste on the older version of Ubuntu. All 4 machines are plain vanilla installs of Ubuntu. No fancy configurations. Here is a summary of some additional testing: Local: Ubuntu 8.10 - vinagre 2.24.1 Remote: Ubuntu 8.04 - vino 2.22.2 Result: can copy and paste files on remote desktop Local: Ubuntu 8.0.4 - vinagre 0.5.1 Remote: Ubuntu 8.10 - vino 2.24.1 Result: can copy and paste files on remote desktop Local: Ubuntu 8.0.4 - vinagre 0.5.1 Remote: Ubuntu 8.04 - x11vnc 0.9.3.dfsg.1 (instead of vino) Result: can copy and paste files on remote desktop Local: Ubuntu 8.0.4 - vinagre 0.5.1 Remote: Ubuntu 7.10 - x11vnc 0.8.2-2 (instead of vino) Result: can copy and paste files on remote desktop (also worked before I changed the remote to x11vnc per my original report Local: Ubuntu 8.0.4 - vinagre 0.5.1 Remote: Ubuntu 8.04 - vino 2.22.2 Result: can copy and NOT paste files on remote desktop I do not have vinagre installed on the Ubuntu 7.10 machine - it is an old Pentium II and it is doing all it can to run GrabIt under Wine and leach binaries from Usenet :-) It looks like the issue is between vinagre 0.5.1 and vino 2.22.2 as all other combinations seem to work. Please let me know if there is any other information which I can provide. ** Affects: vinagre (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Cannot copy and paste a file on remote PC https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/336034 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to vinagre in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
