[Bug 346008] Re: Rhymthbox Lastfm plugins gets the same titles several times the first time it connects

2009-03-23 Thread Benjamin_L
I just noticed this only happens when doubleclicking the first station,
single clicking gives the expected result. So it would be best to unify
single and double click behaviour here.

[Bug 346657] Re: re-generate failed thumbnails

2009-03-23 Thread David Prieto
That's the thing. Files aren't thumbnailed even if they change, like
when they finished being downloaded with Transmission. Also, if you open
a directory with videos before installing their necessary codecs you
will get the generic icons, and installing the codecs afterwards will do
no good.

Really, there are plenty of reasons to retry thumbnailing at least once
in a while.

[Bug 198111] Re: Evolution and Google calendar

2009-03-23 Thread Emanuel Greisen
With Evolution 2.24.3 in intripid (on an intel 64bit machine) I can
easily add the google calendars (I have my own and some shared, which I
have write access to). The event in the calendars show up nicely. But
the following things I have been unable to achieve:

1) Update/Create an event in evolution which would then be synced to google
calendar.
2) Update/Create an event in google calendar which would then be synced to
evolution.

Using wireshark to look at the traffic I notices that the google-
calendar integration suffers from the same issues as the CalDAV
integration:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution-caldav/+bug/138746

Basically Evolution wants to ask for the OPTIONS and google says
HTTP/1.1 501 Not Implemented.

[Bug 347197] [NEW] Nautilus confirm file actions dialogue needs to show file information

2009-03-23 Thread Raptor Ramjet
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

When pasting files into a directory then, should a file of the same name
already exist, the user is prompted with a dialogue stating A File
named $FILE_NAME already exists. Do you want to replace it ?.

Sadly there is no information displayed for either the source or
destination file. The user is therefore unable to decide whether to
replace the file or not until they have manually inspected both source
and destination file size, date last modified etc.

The replace file dialogue should therefore be modified to show
sufficient file information to assist the user. This should, at a
minimum, include the file size and date last modified of both source
and destination files.

working again with ProE in Ubuntu! :D

Are you sure? I found bug 282806 but followed it to the upstream bug,
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=555078 but that bug looked
specific to Nautilus and not gnome-panel. Notice comment #7 in the
gnome bug:

Fixed in trunk.

Spawn the Nautilus windows on the right scren instead of always
using the default one (#555078).

Is a fix in src/nautilus-application.c really going to fix a similar
problem in gnome-panel? Does gnome-panel really get it's application
launching code from the nautilus code? Could be, I dunno.

2009-03-23 Thread Alexander Sack
its not an update manager issue, but rather a gtk or maybe pango one.
The problem seems to be that scaled tags (small, big, etc.) for markup
eliminates the absolute flag from its base size somehow. I contacted
pango developer to get a better idea where this issue comes from.

Anyway, keeping update-manager in the bug (as invalid) as its useful to
QA our changes.

[Bug 345189] Re: MASTER regression after switching system font size to 13.333 pixel - fonts appear too large in some apps that do hand made font sizing - treating pixel units as point units

2009-03-23 Thread Oded Arbel
Alexander, the problem is that the window and desktop font is set at
10px while other fonts are set as 13.333px. All is px.

The result is that the text looks disproportioned between the
application and the window title as can be seen in the last couple of
screenshots. Worse - if you look at a nautilus window vs. icons on the
desktop they look very different even though its the same application
showing the same thing (files).

Moreover, I'd like to note that the text box I'm currently writing this text in
is specified as having font sized at 10pt (not pixels) and I think (from my
experience reading things on computer screens over the years) that Firefox
renders it faithfully. If you'll look in the screenshot you'd notice that the
text looks radically different then the one nautilus renders which is clearly
way too big. However the text size in this text box pretty much matches up to
the text size of the window title which is currently set (as by default) to
10 (whatever that is in the GNOME font properties dialog).
[Not that it matters, but this display is currently set to 86dpi by Ubuntu
automatic DPI magic thing]

What I'm saying is that there are two major issues in this regression ticket:
1. GNOME defaults use two different font sizes: 10 and 13.333 for no apparent
reason and it looks horrible.
2. Apparently most application on the GNOME desktop render the font as if the
number was specified in points and not pixels, and as a result the font is
rendered way too bit. On my desktop this currently includes Metacity and
Nautilus, GNOME control-center applications and a few more.

Lastly, there seems to be a related problem with the font preferences
dialog: when you first load it, the font sizes are specified as 13.333
(not for all, as noted) but when you want to change it there is no
option for 13.333 to change it back. Worse - if you type 13.333 manually
in the font size box and click OK, the text in the application
suddenly grows by 33%. So it looks like even the GNOME font properties
dialog doesn't know that the font size is measured suddenly in pixels.

Font sizes in GNOME have always been in points and are still so in all
applications (except perhaps those that were modified during this
discussion) - why was this change suddenly introduced? it doesn't make
any sense.

[Bug 347227] [NEW] USB flash drive won't mount.

2009-03-23 Thread Michael Sammels
Public bug reported:

I plugged my USB flash drive into Ubuntu and it won't mount. I have done
a sudo fdisk -l command:

Well that does seem to be a problem because I don't see the flash drive
being listed. From the System Administration Log:

OK - looks like it knows that the device exists, electrically speaking,
but it has a problem recognizing how to communicate with it. The drive
works fine on my Windows PC, and all my other flash drives work fine
with Ubuntu... just not this one. It is formatted as FAT32.

[Bug 347225] [NEW] evolution hangs, 100% cpu, apparently in gtk html lib

2009-03-23 Thread Noam Lewis

Firstly, I was about to attach a core dump but realized that it probably
contains sensitive information (this is my email client...) I'm leaving the
process alive (being traced) for a while, if you have any ideas of things i can
do to find the bug.
Secondly, Apparently it's stuck in this function, in the while (1) loop:
(gtkhtml/htmlcursor.c: line ~1211)

(Using: libgtkhtml - gtkhtml3.14-3.24.1.1.)

static gboolean

HTMLCursor prev_cursor;

while (1) {

[Bug 341367] Re: Update to 3.2

2009-03-23 Thread Onkar Shinde
Ken,

My current ekiga setup (with packages from repositories) is broken. I am
not getting any sound at all. SO it will be a while before I figure out
the problem and then move to testing your packages. :-(

By the way, while people test packages from your PPA, can you please
update the package in repositories to 3.0.2 just so that users get the
benefit of setting migration from 2.x in case 3.2 is not going to make
into jaunty.

[Bug 282122] Re: Canon EOS 450D doesn't import on F-spot

2009-03-23 Thread Martijn van de Streek
This happens for me too on jaunty with all my cameras (EOS 50D, 350D,
Ixus 70, haven't tried my Nokia phone)

It seems to happen because f-spot and (gvfs? nautilus?) both want to use
the device when it's plugged in. gvfs to mount it, f-spot to import
from it. When you unmount the icon on your desktop, f-spot will stop
complaining about the device being locked.

2009-03-23 Thread pores_n
I searched gnome-settings-daemon in gnome-system-log,
but no hit except apport.log.

So, I gave up and re-install Jaunty.
I tried to get the same circumstance.
With fglrx, hung-up very easily.
But after reboot, the system works normally.

I only have /var/log/ and /var/crash/ at that time.
The other files are gone when re-install.
