[Bug 187540] Re: Gnome-panel freeze when 8 windows are open when the panel is vertical
Sad thing is that users having notebooks with widescreen will still suffer from this bug. Of course as long as they won't waste their vertical space with horizontal-oriented panels or run too many GUI applications. A partial solution for my widescreen laptop was the use of Separtors in an expanded panel to limit the growth of the Window List applet to a maximum of 7 rows of buttons. Actually I don't have time to work on this right now, but it seems that I have to as it seems no one else is going to do it. I know this is really important and I really want to get this fixed. missing from libgweather is intended to make it clear for testers that libgweather is missing translations so that they can be added before a new release, but that's now irrelevant. I described the problem causing this bug on 2009-03-07. I'll do my best to get this fixed before FinalFreeze on 9.4. And yes, please, bump the Importance to High. [Bug 349394] Re: it crashes in a amount of time
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a '.crash' file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit. If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using /usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. [Bug 349483] [NEW] gnome-sound-properties and gnome-volume-control-settings from gnome-volume-control-pulse have the same menu entry, and very similar descriptions
Public bug reported: See screenshot for the apps with their corresponding launchers. This may of course be mostly related to the i18n packages used (Nowegian Bokmaal), so feel free to change to that, but I think applies to usability everywhere. Some translations: Lyd = Sound Aktiver lyd og tilegn lyder til hendelser translation: Activate sound and assign sounds to events Endre volum og tilegne lyder til hendelser translation: Change volume and assign sounds to events It is a little hard to determine which app does what, so they at least deserve some explanation in their default descriptions, and different menu entries. Ideally, there would be ONE UI that took care of all these settings, which should be a big usability priority. [Bug 349417] Re: Epiphany crashes with Netvibes
[Bug 349486] Re: rhythmbox crashes when libvisual-analyzer visualization is selected
Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding. ** Changed in: rhythmbox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Medium ** Changed in: rhythmbox (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid ** Changed in: rhythmbox (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) = Ubuntu Desktop Bugs (desktop-bugs) -- rhythmbox crashes when libvisual-analyzer visualization is selected https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/349486 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 349515] [NEW] Applications use the system bell beep for alerts
Public bug reported: This is a refile of Bug #280625 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-terminal/+bug/280625). I do not know which part of GTK is causing the problem, so I file it against the gtk-demo application (package gtk2.0-examples). To reproduce: Open gtk-demo, open the Assistant demo and type a backspace into the text box. The internal PC speaker (also known as beep) rings instead of the expected Ubuntu notification sound configured in the sound settings. This bug affects many applications (all that use GTK) such as Firefox (-search) Thunderbird(-new email), instant messengers and so on. [Bug 337926] [NEW] vino: mouse cursor stays in upper left corner
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Seen on Jaunty Alpha: when accessing the desktop using Vino, the mouse cursor is stuck in upper left corner of the screen. More detailed, I can move the cursor using the physical mouse attached to the Jaunty system, but as soon as on the other machine I move the mouse into VNC window, the cursor on the Jaunty machine is moved to upper left corner. Clicking with the VNC mouse works, though (it opens the Application menu which is in that corner). I haven't seen this problem on Intrepid, only on Jaunty. Also, it only happened on a fully-installed system (installed to USB flash drive), on an EeePC 701. When using the Jaunty Live CD (booted over network) on another system and also with a bigger monitor, the problem did not occur; so apparently it doesn't happen in really all cases. On the affected system, the problem occurs every time, however. Switching Compiz on or off hasn't helped so far. The problem also occurs with all VNC viewers I tried (krdc, vinagre, xvncviewer). This is with Jaunty Alpha 5 with all updates installed, using vino 2.25.92-0ubuntu1 . [Bug 114919] Re: automount of USB disk does not work anymore after suspend to disk
This bug still exists in Ubuntu 8.10: sudo fdisk -l says USB disk is /dev/sdd5 gnome-mount -v -t /dev/sdd5 says that /dev/sdd5 is not a volume. However doing a manual mount works. If you restart GNOME after suspend with sudo /etc/init.d/gdm restart, automounting will work again. Furthermore, it seems like the kernel doesn't wake up external HDs correctly. Before I go to suspend the disk was known as /dev/sdc, after wakeup its /dev/sdd. It should be /dev/sdc again. -- automount of USB disk does not work anymore after suspend to disk https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/114919 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-volume-manager in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
