[Bug 356044] [NEW] gnome-panel crashes when firefox is open to a particular page
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-panel Opening this URL: http://blog.oup.com/2009/03/science-fiction/ in firefox, on a completely up-to-date Ubuntu 8.10 install crashes gnome-panel. I've had a couple of other people reproduce this. Note: depending on the nature of the bug, it is possibly a security issue. It is causing gnome- panel to segfault and depending on what exactly is doing that, it is feasible that it's exploitable. [Bug 333366] Re: new nautilus window stays in background
I don't think it's nautilus. some times when I have firefox open and maximized, if I open a new window the window is open but don't show up. try this: open firefox, alt-F10, open gedit, copy some thing from firefox to the gedit document, come back to firefox and now open your home folder from Places. [Bug 356084] [NEW] libsndfile1 1.0.17-4ubuntu0.8.04.1 breaks rythmbox playback on ubuntu hardy

[Bug 356083] [NEW] rhythmbox repeatedly searches for plugins
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: rhythmbox If I import a directory again, sometimes rhythmbox does find non-music files or files which are differently coded. It then starts to search for plugins for these files. So far so good. The problem is that if it does not find a plugin it does not remember that. So it would search for it 10.000 times if it finds it 10.000 times. I recommend a memory of searches. It may make sense to search again sometimes if a new repository was added. OTOH it should recognize that files that are not text are not opened with rhythmbox. [Bug 356044] Re: gnome-panel crashes when firefox is open to a particular page
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a '.crash' file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit. If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using /usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. [Bug 343261] Re: No notification on audio changes (Play, Pause, Next, Previous)
Well, solving bug #345363 and bug #351986 did remove completely the notification for audio change notification in g-s-d 2.26.0-0ubuntu3. In the notify-OSD specs ([1]) there is still the description of the hotkey notification system, but now it is in fact not working at all by default. I did think the desired behaviour for notify-osd was to follow the written specs... [Bug 345363] Re: [jaunty] Next track notification appears even if nothing listening
While it is evident that this bug is solved with latest fix, it does introduce a regression against the desired behaviour of notify-osd in the specs page. Now the hotkey actions are not notified at all (again, bug #343261). The scope of this particular bug was only to make g-s-d wait for a program to listen and act at a hotkey action before making notify-osd show a confirmation notification. -- [jaunty] Next track notification appears even if nothing listening https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/345363 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
