[Bug 383039] [NEW] gedit crashes on large text files
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gedit I am trying to open a 480MB text file (503604718 bytes to be exact) and gedit crashes suddenly when I try to open it. [Bug 379895] Re: Trash applet sometimes shows wrong icon when is not empty in Jaunty
A similar bug was present in Hardy (the trash icon didn't reflect the fact that trash was empty or full but you had either to click on it, to fix the issue, or restart the session or the system). [Bug 305428] Re: evolution-data-server eats memory like crazy
@Ivlo: 200Mb you can almost count as normal behavior (though I agree this is already far to much, and to me indicates some memory leak). Guess you don't have any WebCal resource in use for (one of) your calendar(s)? If you want a zero more at the end, try that :( I'm quite disappointed it takes that long for a fix. The initial report is already 6 months old. Well, at least the bugs status has been risen to Triaged - other bugs I'm following did not even manage that after 2 years, so I still live with the work-arounds... [Bug 121057] Re: totem browser plugin slider does not move while playing, and the mp3 file cannot be re-played.
I have the same problem both on Intrepod 8.10 and Jaunty 9.04 with totem-gstreamer plugin. I need this badly because when my grandfather watches a movie on bestrussiantv.com and it gets interrupted, he has to restart it and position to where he got dropped, but the slider on Totem stays dead. [Bug 383015] Re: When I try to go to EditPreferences in Evolution, it quits out unexpectedly.
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a '.crash' file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit. If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using /usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. I'm having the same problem in two of my computers as well as two of my friends. It gives some funny feelings about Evolution, if the developers don't want to read error reports. In this case there has been error reports about this same case over half a year, If you want more information, please ask and describe what it is you want. If a rapport comes from somebody not involved in the development of the program, she doesn't know the fancy terms you are using in your own circles. [Bug 366379] Re: Deleted files does not show in Nautilus trash
This bug also occurs for me with a new system on which I've installed Ubuntu 9.04 -many times. The trash can simply does not work. Deleted files end up in ~/.local/share/Trash/files but not in Trash:/// or in the Trash applet. I asked my flatmate (who is also using 9.04) about the problem and tested it on his machine and the same problem occurs. He hadn't noticed because he normally uses rm to delete things as a matter of course. After reading the above, I tried rebooting the machine (either for the first time or the second). The trash can appears to be working normally. Phew! I guess it's safe to ship this clunky old PC to my friend's daughter without having to explain to her why files can't truly be deleted. (Recalls the xkcd cartoon along the lines of Parents: Tell your children about Linux before someone else does.) That my Ubuntu-geek flatmate hasn't needed to restart his system since he got 9.04 does say something positive about Ubuntu. The number of restarts required by the Windows 2000 installer today made me dizzy.. -- Deleted files does not show in Nautilus trash https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/366379 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding. ** Changed in: deskbar-applet (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Medium ** Changed in: deskbar-applet (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid ** Changed in: deskbar-applet (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) = Ubuntu Desktop Bugs (desktop-bugs) -- deskbar-applet segfaults when I type single e https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/377908 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 373167] Re: After installing Thunderbird, preferred applications shows both Mozilla Thunderbird and Thunderbird
John, the reason why it looks like a Thunderbird bug is that it appears that the Thunderbird package installs a thunderbird and a mozilla- thunderbird link in /usr/bin, both pointing to /usr/lib/thunderbird/thunderbird. If you remove the mozilla-thunderbird link, it resolves the problem. So steps to reproduce: cd /usr/bin sudo ln -s ../lib/thunderbird/thunderbird mozilla-thunderbird If you now go to System - Preferences - Preferred Applications, you will see both a Thunderbird option and a Mozilla Thunderbird one. If you remove the /usr/bin/mozilla-thunderbird link, the second option disappears from preferred applications. It looks like the /usr/bin/mozilla-thunderbird link that is created when installing the thunderbird package is superfluous. Or is this the intended behaviour and does it mean that the preferred applications preference tool should show only one option even if both links are present? -- After installing Thunderbird, preferred applications shows both Mozilla Thunderbird and Thunderbird https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/373167 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
