Either you set it to a really long timeout, or they pop up in the middle of a TV show. I want the screen either on, or off. Save some electricity and let your monitor go blank, sleep, or off. Re: [Bug 22007] Re: no 'Settings' button in gnome-screensaver
But *WHY* do we have to run around in rings to do something that should be simple, just not to miff inoperative upstream maintenance. Let's DIVERGE if we want something good, while upstrem pushes something bad. Really, the screensaver is not important. Fine, then, let's fix it too, because this Ubuntu Papercuts program is for fixing unimportant things that are badly done and are pebbles in the sandal on the road to a totally smooth user experience. Thanks for your efforts, but I've already fixed that part in the nautilus-share git packaging repository for Debian (I prefer the use of strstr, because Everyone:R/F can appear anywhere in the string) and was poking around with the emblem issue for the past few hours. The results of my tests were that the bug cannot be fixed in nautilus-share, but resides in the nautilus extensions interface code. Specifically, the Nautilus Info Provider interface calls the function provided by an extension for all files/directories except the XDG standard directories, i.e. Documents, Music, Pictures, etc. If this is fixed in Nautilus, then the emblem issue would automatically be fixed without any change in nautilus-share code. affects ubuntu/nautilus status new -- Regards, Chow Loong Jin ** Also affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Sharing Icons don't show except for Downloads folder https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/280480 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 280480] Re: Sharing Icons don't show except for Downloads folder
Ok, drifting into the area of speculation here: I seem to remember reading somewhere that there's a package (or even just a util) that deals with the naming of these base folders for internationalisation reasons (if you login with a new language, it'll dynamically rename the folders to account for this change). Could this perhaps be affecting the issue at all, as it's another base-folder specific manipulation tool. 'Kuća' in Croatian is also very... I said it already :) There's also Spanish. Casa? And if you think for a second, it's not that smart in English too. It's just that we got used to it calling it home. In you example, 'Where's my stuff?', you could easily say 'Click Places, then click My-Super-Cool-Folder' and it would still have the same effect as calling it Home/Flat/World. That's cause you didn't answer to the question, you explained the steps to the solution. Real world answers would be: 'In your home folder/directory.' 'In your home.' 'In your personal folder/directory.' Which one of those sounds most reasonable? -- Home Folder has 3 different names https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/382703 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
