I have the same problem on two different machines both running ubuntu 9.04. [Bug 392837] [NEW] I cannot use the go button to reload crashed pages with anchors in the address
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: epiphany-browser In loaded pages, pressing the go button or the enter key in the address bar will reload the page. In loaded pages with anchors, the same action will take you to the anchor again. My problem is with crashed pages. In that case I would like that web addresses with anchors where totally reloaded. Case 1: - I'm in the main page of a blog and I press the View comments link to see the comments on a given entry - Epiphany crashes while that (and probably others) pages is loading - I open Epiphany again and press the button Recover tabs - The page I was trying to see is not reloaded automatically and I get a message saying something like This page was been loaded when E crashed. To prevent... (I don't know the exact text, I use Epiphany in Spanish). What I would like to happen: I would like to press the go button to reload the page and go to the anchor What happens: Epiphany does not try to load the page because its tries to go to the anchor instead I think that if Epiphany knows that the site is not totally loaded (or does not find the anchor in the address), it should always refresh the page no matter what kind of address it has. This problem exists also if you press the cancel button while loading a website. It happens to me many times, but maybe this is more a wish than a bug. ** Affects: epiphany-browser (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Summary changed: - I cannot reload crashed pages with anchors in the address + I cannot use the go button to reload crashed pages with anchors in the address -- I cannot use the go button to reload crashed pages with anchors in the address https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/392837 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to epiphany-browser in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 273294] Re: Rhythmbox can not use smb:// as library location
The music just stopped playing again and I got the same error again. Reissuing the gnomevfs-ls command fixed it again. The computer connects via 802.11g on an Atheros chipset which may be the cause for some minor network instability. It seems that although Ubuntu as such handles this fine, it throws Rhythmbox out of its zen... It might be relevant to note that Rhythmbox worked fine out of the box up until a week ago (on the same WiFi connection), when update manager replaced some packages. What update manager replaced is beyond me, but if I can get some guidance, I'd be happy to provide input if it can help. -- Rhythmbox can not use smb:// as library location https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/273294 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

After all this time of using this version of Ubuntu (8.04) it is for the first time when all of the sudden, without trying to use it, the vino-server jumps up and takes all the CPU power. Refresh is a state of mind, and this action could be between zero and Inf+. Upstream ATK bug http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=577098 is an earlier version. If the analysis there is correct, then ATK is unmaintained since 2005 when Sun worked on it, and future work is planned only for Gnome 3.0 ( http://live.gnome.org/Accessibility/BonoboDeprecation ) I suppose Canonical can see if this is indeed the case by contacting GNOME devels and/or the people of codethink http://codethink.co.uk/ who plan to work on it for gnome 3.0 If indeed there are no developers that take up these serious issues, I would suggest to completely remove ATK from Ubuntu. [Bug 392716] Re: notification area applets crash on login
one other (rather hackish) hint if you want to test a proper kernel/initramfs setup as ubuntu uses it: (well, one way would be to base on a ubuntu kernel package, add your patchset and just build that, since this will call the proper postinstall scripts, use the needed configuration options for security features etc and put things in the right places, but for a quicker way to test your own build, see below) a) do a normal install to USB from the imx51 live image (leave the SD card in place after installation) b) copy the vmlinuz-$version of the kernel you want to test into /boot on the installed system c) put the branch with modules for this kernel under /lib/modules d) run: sudo update-initramfs -c -k $version of the kernel you need the initramfs for d) run: sudo flash-kernel (so the initramfs gets proper padding and kernel and initramfs get put into the redboot patition on SD into the right places) e) reboot this will narrow down the possible causes of failure to kernel or redboot changes and exclude any possibilities of issues caused by a nonstandard boot setup. -- notification area applets crash on login https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/392716 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 392729] [NEW] Gnome About dialogs do not tell me the program name
You have been subscribed to a public bug: My locale is de_AT.UTF-8. Many gnome programs (for example gnome-help or the clock applet in the panel) don't tell me the name of the program in the About dialog. Instead they tell me a translation of the name! This may be a nice information too, but I use the About dialog specifically to find out what program (or version) I am dealing with. How am I supposed to find the package/command/process id/bug page for the application with the name Uhr or Hilfe? This is not only a locale problem, as evince introduces itself as Document Viewer. [Bug 392906] Re: lost all power management related features
I'm having the same problem and I experimented with different packages. g-p-m 2.27.2 and 2.27.1-0ubuntu2 gave the same devicekit-power errors. Downgrading devicekit-power to this fixed it. https://edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/devicekit- power/008-1/+build/1057967 ** Package changed: gnome-power-manager (Ubuntu) = devicekit-power (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: devicekit-power (Ubuntu) Status: New = Confirmed -- lost all power management related features https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/392906 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-power-manager in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 386150] Re: Nautilus file browser toolbar is complicated, redundant, and ugly
Here is a comparison between the size of the chrome (gray) and the area where you see the actual files (green) in the default nautilus window size on a new (guest) account. This does not take into account tabs or the bar that appears when you're about copy files to a writable cd. Solving this bug would mean more space for the green area. With my icon designer hat on, icons such as Visualization in Rhythmbox benefit from a label, as it's a much less common symbol in our everyday lives than arrows (that are practically everywhere), so I don't believe dropping the labels from those icons will impact notably on the learnability of the interface. ** Attachment added: comparision between chrome and file area size http://launchpadlibrarian.net/28461826/nautilus-space-usage.png -- Nautilus file browser toolbar is complicated, redundant, and ugly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/386150 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
