[Bug 36832] Re: User switching is untransparent
If I'm reading the initial report correctly, it has the underlying presumption that there are only two desktop users. In a system with user Z in addition to users X and Y, I wouldn't expect to returned to user Y's (locked) desktop on X's log-out, but to a gdm login so that *either* of the other users Y and Z can log in from there. In fact I agree on the point of the report that user switching is untransparent, but do so because of the opposite reason: in a three-user system, when all three are logged in, being presented with the locked screen of another user when logging one out is what makes the switch untransparent. What I'd expect to see is the gdm login. That is because usually there's no way for the system to know which of the remaining users is about to return to his/her desktop. -- User switching is untransparent https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/36832 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

I got to fix the problem with a similar process as kamome described, but (a) the process was a pain in the posterior because massive amounts of deleted mails reappeared in their original folders which then had to be hand-deleted, and (b) the problem reappeared just a day or two later. [Bug 257190] Re: Setting status to 'Hidden' changes status to 'Busy' instead
Confirmed in fresh install of Karmic Koala with Empathy 2.28.1. Status appears as Hidden in status drop-down list, but the account will be seen as Busy in the contacts list. I added myself in my list for testing purposes, and I appear to be Busy instead of offline. Steps to reproduce the bug are described upwards, they are the same, I am just adding another confirmation. It should be a class-C bug, but with A priority, because is one of the most used features an average user wants to work fine. I haven't figured yet if this is a system-wide bug with other implications at other software levels, or it is strictly about Empathy. Hope it will be reopened if it's closed, otherwise users will switch to other IM clients such Pidgin a.o., and Empathy might lose the popularity it won with its embed in 9.10. -- Setting status to 'Hidden' changes status to 'Busy' instead https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/257190 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to empathy in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 440828] Re: ignore play command after queue finished
SRU justification. This is a minor but annoying bug that already collected a couple of duplicates. It was fixed in upstream version 0.12.6 and thus in Lucid. The patch posted here is taken from upstream (http://git.gnome.org/browse/rhythmbox/commit/?id=d655375d6321ce91ba51cf0a5fe217333b62ad6b). TEST CASE: 1. Open rhythmbox. 2. Select an album, start the last track. 3. Use the search-position-bar to go near the end of the music file. 4. Wait until the playback finishes. 5. Press Play-Button (in program or notification-icon) OR double click on another music file or another album OR select another album or music file and press the button 6. The play button will push in, the album art will load and the song will get the Playing icon next to it, but it won't be playing. It's just a one-line change! And this patch was used in Debian (version 0.12.5-2). It survives upstream until now. ** Attachment added: 440828.debdiff http://launchpadlibrarian.net/37211535/440828.debdiff ** Changed in: rhythmbox (Ubuntu) Assignee: Ilya Barygin (randomaction) = (unassigned) -- ignore play command after queue finished https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/440828 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to rhythmbox in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

A lot of people seem to have this bug, see http://forum.ubuntuusers.de/topic/rhythmbox-plugin:-radiostreams-rippen/8/#post-2291789 http://forum.ubuntuusers.de/post/2254987/ http://forum.ubuntuusers.de/post/2123282/ But I don't think it has to do with Rhythmbox, if you google the error message you get some other results too. To me it seems like a rare PyGTK/PyGObject Crash under the weirdest conditions :/ Can a PyGTK Developer please look into this? -- rhythmbox assert failure: ERROR:/build/buildd/pygobject-2.18.0/gobject/pygobject.c:924:pygobject_new_full: assertion failed: (tp != NULL) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/448831 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to rhythmbox in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Public bug reported: Binary package hint: compiz Running Ubuntu Lucid with Gnome and compiz. I would like to set a keyboard shortcut for switching between windows of an application. There are two options present in the gnome keyboard properties application for this: Move between windows of an application, using a popup window and Move between windows of an application immediately. Setting either of these settings while using compiz ends up doing nothing. apt-cache policy gnome-control-center gnome-control-center: Installed: 1:2.28.1-1ubuntu1 Candidate: 1:2.28.1-1ubuntu1 apt-cache policy compiz compiz: Installed: 1:0.8.4-0ubuntu9 Candidate: 1:0.8.4-0ubuntu9 ** Affects: compiz (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Confirmed ** Affects: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Confirmed ** Also affects: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [lucid] setting keyboard shortcut for switching between windows of an application does not work with compiz https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/500672 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
