[Bug 501045] Re: Will not resume from suspend
Thank you for reporting this. Please answer a few questions and provide more information. Does this occur every time that you try to resume or just once in awhile? Did this used to work before? If so, in which kernel release did it used to work? While trying to resume, does caps lock flash or anything similar to this? Please pastebin the output of the following: dmesg cat /proc/cmdline cat /etc/initramfs-tools/conf.d/resume and include the links in your response. -Yos -- Will not resume from suspend https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/501045 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-power-manager in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 501271] [NEW] Unmounted USB storage still shown in Computer devices but cannot be accessed
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus Hi, I noticed that karmic's nautilus has a weird behaviour with USB storage. Basically: 1) plug a USB storage device into your USB port 2) after a while, nautilus pops up showing the content of the device and the device itself is shown on nautlius left pane (resources) 3) unmount the drive, clicking on the eject button After this step, the USB device disappear from the nautilus resources, which I might assume is a correct behaviour. If you go to the computer section, you still see it! If you click on it, nothing happens. This is very misleading, because the user see the USB device but cannot access it. If you remove the USB device from the USB port, it actually disappear from the Computer section too. [Bug 498532] Re: No VFS entries in the sidebar of QGtkStyle's GtkFileChooser
Apologises for the delay of this response. I didn't have much time lately due to foreseen circumstances, I hope you understand. I also didn't see through this bug completely and didn't interpret the symptoms correctly right away. The file chooser dialogue is not a part of Nautilus, but of the GTK+ project. However, when using GtkFileChooserDialog, the VFS entries should be added correctly to the sidebar. The bug you reported is in the GTK+ -- a graphical toolkit -- integration of Qt -- another graphical toolkit, called QGtkStyle. It tries to draw Qt applications with GTK+ and uses GtkFileChooser to draw the file chooser. This is where the bug lies. ** Package changed: nautilus (Ubuntu) = qt4-x11 (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: qt4-x11 (Ubuntu) Status: New = Confirmed -- No VFS entries in the sidebar of QGtkStyle's GtkFileChooser https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/498532 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 501309] [NEW] Dragging or restoring a window is choppy and slow when Nautilus renders desktop
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus Environment: this bug is made with ubuntu-bug so I assume the relevant versions and packages are attached. The symptoms are: - Dragging windows across the screen stutters visibly, intermittently halting for up to half a second. CPU usage is very high at those points, the X (Xorg) Process specifically. - Restoring a window from its maximized state is similar, the window is reduced to its normal size but it takes up to 2-3 seconds for the window itself to redraw and (probably more importantly) for the desktop to redraw or refresh I've been able to exclude most typical graphics causes such as the nvidia driver or Xorg itself by trying the same in KDE which does not exhibit the problem (same machine, same config). In fact I can narrow it down specifically to Nautilus: when I go into gconf-editor and set the property /apps/nautilus/preferences/show_desktop to false (unchecked) then the problem goes away. So in effect, only when Nautilus is drawing the desktop does this problem occur. [Bug 151608] Re: Evince Document Viewer 2.20.0 fails to read Arabic PDFs
output.pdf does not render the arabic text properly even with Adobe Reader 9.2 (linux) or Adobe Acrobat (Windows). Attached is a page that can be used for testing (page7.pdf). Using Adobe Reader 9.2 (linux) the arabic renders properly. [Bug 501440] [NEW] A cleaner Nautilus computer:/// window
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus In Jaunty the computer:/// of Nautilus was very neat. It only showed you the name of the partition and not the size of the hard disk it is on (like Karmic) Is there anyway of removing the eyesore 500 GB Hardisk: in front of the drives. It is rather unnecessary and takes the focus from most info the Name/Label/MountPoint of the partition. Or it should be shown in a smaller and lighter text below the Name/Label/MountPoint. Do I really need to see 500GB so many times, I bought the hard disk I know it is 500GB, I don't need to be reminded of it every day. When one has given a label for a partition there is no need to mention how large the drive the partition sits on, after all it is limited by the partition size. attached are screenshots of now (Karmic) and before (on Jaunty) Using Nautilus 2.28.1, ** Affects: hundredpapercuts Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- A cleaner Nautilus computer:/// window https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/501440 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
