Re: [Bug 520629] Re: rhythmbox crashes after loading a radio station
Nigel, Thanks for your reply. It is a little more complicated than that. Rhythmbox crashes after changing a radio-stream. Not always after the first change, but usually within a change or two..It gives than two dialog boxes on top of each other. One tells me It cannot START the music pipeline and on top of that a dialog-box (or the other way around,I don't remember) that it cannot STOP the music pipeline. After that nothing works. It won't play any music. No flac-files or MP3-files on the harddisk, no podcasts that are already downloaded and no musicstream or radio as mentioned. The only way to make it running again is to completely close down the application (not neccesary to close down the laptop). With the closing of Rhythmbox an empty dialogbox appears. After closing that and starting Rhythmbox again, it will run fine .till I try to change a radio-station. I now am really considering to run an older distro from Ubuntu (not 9.01, but the previous one). Just to make things running again. Regards, Peter van der Maas 2010/2/12 Nigel Babu nigelb...@gmail.com Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. [Bug 16492] Re: Mouse pointer should disappear when keyboard is in use and mouse isn't
I had a look at this today, scrolling through pages of gtk gdk stuff. I have tried coding up a potential solution, and the preliminary patch is attached. Please note, it is just an experiment, and has not been tested in any way, it was just to see where I could solve the problem. I think that it would be good for gtkwidget to have the main implementation which would then be inherited everywhere, but widgets need to be able to override it. Thus the patch needs more work so gtktextview and gtkentry can replace the gtkwidget implementation with their own. ** Patch added: hide-cursor-until-moved.patch http://launchpadlibrarian.net/39091009/hide-cursor-until-moved.patch -- Mouse pointer should disappear when keyboard is in use and mouse isn't https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/16492 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. This bug had the wrong package associated with it, which is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. You can learn more about finding the right package at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. I have classified this bug as a bug in gnome-utils. When reporting bugs in the future please use apport, either via the appropriate application's Help - Report a Problem menu or using 'ubuntu-bug' and the name of the package affected. [Bug 520863] [NEW] Window manager (metacity) hangs hard every now and again
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: metacity Metacity (I think? could also be X...) hangs hard every once in a while. [Bug 520761] Re: e-mail accounts without @ crash evolution and X
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit. If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using /usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. [Bug 255228] Re: Disabling the suspend and hibernate locks via gconf-editor doesn't do anything (from Intrepid to Karmic included)
I too have the same problem on my Toshiba M500 running 9.10 with the latest updates ... but in reverse I am trying to make the system prompt for a password upon resume. i have tried the gconf-editor method to no avail. Both in sudo and without it makes absolutely what is checked in the editor ... the system still does NOT prompt upon resume. It used to to so, but since the latest updates it no longer does. Also another weird thing is that the suspend button combo (func+F3) does still suspend the machine BUT when I press the power button to resume (like it used to work) the computer resumes with a frozen cursor, and promptly goes back to sleep only a complete power down with the battery out solves this cycle. I am an ubuntu n00b so it is quite difficult for me to diagnose all this, but I have tried all suggested methods and so far have had no luck. -- Disabling the suspend and hibernate locks via gconf-editor doesn't do anything (from Intrepid to Karmic included) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/255228 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-power-manager in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 520923] Re: I could not find any solution for lost emails and contacts from evolution. Is there anybody knows it ?
Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to a question in the support tracker. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are uncertain if they are bugs. For help on reporting bugs, see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#When%20not%20to%20file%20a%20bug. ** Changed in: evolution (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid ** Converted to question: https://answers.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+question/100837 -- I could not find any solution for lost emails and contacts from evolution. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: seahorse Before upgrading to karmic, I used seahorse regularly to encrypt/decrypt/sign/verify files. After upgrading to karmic, it no longer finds my keys. I get the message No encryption keys were found with which to perform the operation you requested. The program Passwords and Encryption Keys will now be started so that you may either create a key or import one. It opens the Passwords and Encryption Keys dialog and it only remembers my ssh logins and passwords, but none of my personal or 3rd-party gpg keys. I am certain that I haven't played with any of the settings or moved any of the files manually. Perhaps there's something mal-configured on my system that could be easily fixed, but it certainly seems buggy that something like that would happen on an upgrade. ** Affects: seahorse (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Invalid -- No encryption keys were found with which to perform the operation you requested.
