[Bug 534225] [NEW] [lucid] gnome-network-properties sets no_proxy environment variable wrong
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-control-center When setting a proxy using gnome-network-config, programs that check the http_proxy and no_proxy environment variables (such as wget) will not use the proxy server. The issue appears to be that the no_proxy environment variable is being set to localhost,127.0.0.0/8,*.local, (note the trailing comma), which appears to make this a wildcard match. Removing the comma from the end with `export no_proxy=localhost,127.0.0.0/8,*.local` will cause the proxy to be used again. [Bug 278489] Re: Local mouse pointer disappears
The upstream bug (https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=577580) has a patch for libgtk-vnc that fixes the bug. For those interested, you can apply it with: 1. Make a folder for the gtk-vnc git source code and download it: mkdir gtk-vnc cd gtk-vnc git clone git://git.gnome.org/gtk-vnc 2. Apply the patch (http://bugzilla- attachments.gnome.org/attachment.cgi?id=148702) wget http://bugzilla-attachments.gnome.org/attachment.cgi?id=148702 -o pointer-patch.diff patch -p1 pointerpatch.diff 3. Run the autobuild.sh command and install all the dev libraries it tells you are missing. ./autobuild.sh I needed to install at least build-essential, libtool, python-gtk2-dev, and libsasl2-dev (ie Synaptic or with the sudo apt-get install command). I got the error libtool: link: only absolute run-paths are allowed at the end of the build, but the new library had been built successfully as build/src/.libs/libgtk-vnc-1.0.so.0.0.1 and I just needed to link it to /usr/lib/libgtk-vnc-1.0.so to get it working. -- Local mouse pointer disappears https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/278489 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to vinagre in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Patch series submitted to upstream bugzilla and mailing list email sent. Working great with my internal hard drive, usb drive, and CD. I also made it so when you press the Eject button, e.g. on your CD drive, no windows are closed. [Bug 533797] Re: SIGSEGV when playing music on a MTP device
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a '.crash' file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit. If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using /usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. But at least, when the user tries to connect to a server, it should be pointed to him that he can install this package to have much more functionality. Just a question: is this package in the default lucid iso? If yes why it has been removed during my upgrade from karmic? From the user point of view it seems a regression, because some functionality available in karmic was lost on lucid. That's why I reported this as a bug.
