[Bug 130289] Re: Encode any :, @ or / within the user and password field in proxy settings.

2010-03-25 Thread Jean-Baptiste Lallement
debug log.

The proxy string http://user2:p%40ssw...@localhost:3128
And you'll see the host part interpreted by apt is ssw...@localhost:3128
The parser in strutl stops at the 1rst @ (which is correct)
The password shouldn't be unquoted before being parsed.

the latest update to therhythmbox-radio-browser from segler which
occurred a few days ago. I am also running Karmic and using the segler

the rhythmbox-radio-browser, and now I have exactly the same problem as

[Bug 532633] Re: [Master] Window Control buttons: position/order/alignment

2010-03-25 Thread aysiu
Yes, Mark, if you can clarify a bit about what kind of data you will
actually consider as a factor in your decision, perhaps people here can
actually help you by providing that data so we can avoid arguments that
just go around in circles.

What are you looking for? Polls? Anecdotes?

If polls, what would you like the poll options to be? If anecdotes, what
specific things do you want people to test for?

Believe me, most of the people here who are opposed to the change would
love to be able to work with you to get you what you need to make a
well-informed decision. We just need guidance on what will actually help
you.

So far, you haven't seemed to really take into consideration the valid
criticisms that have been brought up (and, no, they haven't just been
we're used to something else). You keep mentioning data, so it'd be
great to know either what data you are currently collection and what
userbase that consists of or what data you would like us to collect for
you and how you would like that approached so that you do take it
seriously.

[Bug 546446] Re: old session keyring still on disk

2010-03-25 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package gnome-keyring -
2.92.92git20100322-0ubuntu2

---
gnome-keyring (2.92.92git20100322-0ubuntu2) lucid; urgency=low

  * Add 04_clean_session_keyring.patch: Earlier versions of gnome-keyring
(intra-lucid development) accidentally wrote the session keyring to disk.
Clean it up on startup. This needs to be kept until after beta-2,
preferably shortly before lucid final. (LP: #546446)

[Bug 532633] Re: [Master] Window Control buttons: position/order/alignment

2010-03-25 Thread Atel Apsfej
aysiu:

Yes this is one of the fundamental communication breakdowns between the
closed door design team and the external community. Shuttleworth and
the design team want data.. but they haven't communicated what that
means. Why hasn't that happened? Is the team concerned that the
passionate minority with game the system and heavily bias the data that
is being collected? There hasn't been a general data collecting
methodology articulated for any of the experimental design decisions.
This, more than any individual design decision, is the fundamental
breakdown in communication which risks hardening passionate contributors
in the Ubuntu community against Canonical in leading this work.

[Bug 547081] [NEW] faint garble playing music on rythmbox

2010-03-25 Thread fat tom
Public bug reported:

I'm on a compaq nc4010 laptop which I use as a music player. I don't know what
sound hardware that is, but it's listed as built in.
The sound quality was fine using 9.10 Netbook Remix.

I installed the 10.04 beta over the top of the 9.10 setup -- it wasn't a
clean install. That all went well and some display problems have been
fixed. But when I play music on Rythmbox 0.12.7 the sound has a faint
but annoying garble. The effect is worse when the sound is dense. I have
MP3s from Amazon and my own Ogg rips and it shows on both.

I haven't made any hardware changes and the software is all just as I
found it -- it was plug and play.

[Bug 547092] [NEW] System/Administration/Network tool Wireless Problem

2010-03-25 Thread LinuxN00B33
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: yelp

When user launches Network config tool via
System/Administration/Network, they are unable to configure a wireless
connection. After providing administrator password, the wireless
adapter can be selected, but any values they input to Properties do not
save and are not updated to the interfaces file. Scenario 1: User has
router with WPA AES security with passphrase. User tries to enter
passphrase into Ubuntu Network GUI but information is not written to the
interfaces file so the network connection can be made. Scenario 2:
User with WPA2 security tries to use Network tool to update interfaces
file with passphrase. Passphrase does not save, does not write to
Interfaces file. Scenario 3: WPA User manually edits interfaces file
with all relevant wireless information. If they now go into the Ubuntu
Network tool, the WPA password field will now show *** and
presumably has correct data! It appears the Network tool can read the
interfaces file but not write to it.

1) Package is Ubuntu Studio 9.10 x64.
2) I expected the Network Tool to edit the interfaces file with my input so a
connection could be created.
3) Instead it could not write to the file. It appears to be able to read it
however.

[Bug 460328] Re: Wrong keyboard settings when console-settings has multiple layouts

2010-03-25 Thread Psy[H[]
Checkbox: new window inherits layout of active window or something like that.
In new gnome it is a curious frontend to defaultGroup key.
Checkbox true = defaultGroup -1
Checkbox false = defaultGroup 0
And this checkbox does not update visually when set defaults button is
pressed and sets defaultGroup to -1. Checkbox remains false.
I doubt this trifle worth a separate bug.

Sorry for the noise, I'm a litle dump...

That's just config, rhythmbox is only in systray (got this strange
config after a crappy exit ?)

Note that's really not user friendly to start an application just in
systray... Perhaps add a notification ?
