[Bug 558469] Re: nautilus-connect-server: mounted shares are lost at logout

2010-04-16 Thread Michael Kofler
Sorry for the incomplete report. It's Lucid with all updates as of April
15th. I just re-tested with a new user. All shares I setup with
nautilus-clonnect-server are lost at logout and have to be re-configured
at the next login.

PS: Right now you can only test this for shares without password,
because of a bug in gnome-keyring:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-keyring/+bug/552375

It is impossible to setup a share with passwords if you try to save the
password in gnome-keyring.

[Bug 564436] [NEW] network places does not inform users to use brackets for IPv6 address

2010-04-16 Thread tikal808
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

On Lucid development branch, network places gives generic error message
when trying to connect to a server over IPv6, rather than suggesting the
user place the address in square brackets. [ ]

Further more, placing the address address in brackets is not an
intuitive method for users to connect to remote machines. If brackets
are indefinitely needed place a reminder in the connect to server
window after it's open.

To clarify when connecting to (for example) an openssh server that
listens on IPv6:

this won't work: 2001:470:1f06:a25:a00:24ff:fe77:2bb
but
this will work:[2001:470:1f06:a25:a00:24ff:fe77:2bb]

[Bug 482505] Re: External USB Disk does not automatically mount at boot (worked in Jaunty, not in Karmic).

2010-04-16 Thread richard mullens
I don't believe that this is fixed yet. I have Ubuntu Lucid Beta which
was up to date yesterday.

When I plug in a flash drive or an NTFS volume, the lights on the device
flash but it does not appear is the list of Places.

In order to make it work I have added the following 3 lines to
/etc/rc.local

#use lspci |grep -i ehci to determine PCI device number of EHCI controller
#use result (00:1d.7) in command below
echo -n :00:1d.7 /sys/bus/pci/drivers/ehci_hcd/unbind

I used those instructions because I found them at
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1307542page=6 (entry #57)

I am using an Acer Aspire One - but the same problem exists using an
Asus PC with Karmic.

Perhaps this problem is slightly different to the one described above -
but in my opinion it is a show stopper !

[Bug 564440] [NEW] connect to server address box to small for user to properly see IPv6 address

2010-04-16 Thread tikal808

[Bug 564105] Re: [users-admin] Unintentional editing settings of wrong user

2010-04-16 Thread Milan Bouchet-Valat
I can confirm the bug, yes. That happens because we force updating the
groups, which is a hack we need ATM. So that can't be fixed without a
proper solution for the other bug.

But I really don't think that's a big deal. In every edit dialog the
name of the selected user is written in bold, so I really think you'd
notice. And you don't edit groups everyday.

[Bug 563641] Re: gnome-volume-control-applet shows humanity icon instead of mono

2010-04-16 Thread Vish
Looks like you are not using the indicator-applet ?
The icon is supposed to be used only in the panel. The indicator applet uses
the monochrome icons , since it detects the icons with *-panel names.

If you are using the icons in earlier versions than Lucid , in Karmic ,
you will notices such problem , the applet needs to be fixed to use the

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important
for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. You can learn
more about finding the right package at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage .
(With many applications, you can report a future bug directly on the
appropriate package by opening the application's Help menu and choosing
Report a Problem. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs)

I will for know assign this to nautilus as reported by apport, but this
may be a bug in gvfs instead.

I can get my mails from my pop3 server just every 15 minutes. If i try it befor

failure message from the server doesn't say that the password was incorrect. It
says that the time between requests was under 15 minutes. So please fix that in

[Bug 564296] Re: Rythmbox crashed when using internet radios plugin

2010-04-16 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal
with as a '.crash' file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report
a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer.

If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport
in /etc/default/apport and restart.

If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus
and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report
you wish to submit.

If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using
/usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a
terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report.
I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will
automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently.
Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

2010-04-16 Thread Rolf Leggewie
resetting to new to start request for feature-freeze exception. Please
sync epiphany-extensions from Debian unstable.

The rationale is pretty obvious. The current epiphany package
specifically breaks any epiphany-extensions package earlier than the one
currently in Debian unstable. epiphany-extensions obviously depends on
the epiphany-browser package. As such, it is currently not installable.
That is only fixable by syncing the version from Debian unstable. There
is no Ubuntu-specific delta.

[Bug 564399] Re: gnome-panel crashed with SIGSEGV in ORBit_c_stub_invoke()

Clutter require 3D capability that some graphic driver can't offer.
Same problem for people using VirtualBox or KVM.

The main problem i see is that you get no feedback of why the game
didn't start. You should get a dialog explaining that you can play this
game in a environement that is 3D capable.

2010-04-16 Thread Сергій Кусюмов
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: metacity

When on Ubuntu Netbook reminx, Mouse cursor (pointer) disappeared after suspend.
Strange, I was still able to click on objects, just that the pointer itself was
not visible.

[Bug 559523] Re: Mount of samba share allways failes IF password are saved

2010-04-16 Thread malbo
after update today, it's works really better. Now, it's possible to
browse the samba shares with password stored. But i still have the bug
sometime on both PC's (see comments #3 to #5). In this case, if I repeat
the request for mount, I obtain finally the share. It's a very good
improvement. A little bit effort, and the bug will be solved.

[Bug 555692] Re: Focus stolen while renaming file

2010-04-16 Thread Gavin Panella
At the time I filed the bug it was reproducible, but Nautilus now seems
to correctly wait until the rename is completed or abandoned before
refreshing the folder view, and no longer steals the focus. Marking as
Invalid.
