[Bug 529696] Re: brasero can't copy audio cd (useless error message)
@John Garland: How can you change the status to Fix released, if there is only an unofficial fix from a PPA?! Fix released means done, closed, go along, but as long as there is no correct package in the official ubuntu sources, most people will have the problem. Status for brasero (Ubuntu) should be in progress unless someone pushes the updated package and/or the patch into the official repositories. -- brasero can't copy audio cd (useless error message) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/529696 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to brasero in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Re: [Bug 562160] Re: evolution stops correctly download messages from pop3 servers and also starts doing weird stuff with IMAP ones
I've tested with lucid as follow: 1) I've launched the live environment and setted up my imap account on lucid live. evolution has done the job well for the few new emails resident inside the imap server. 2) I've repeated the operation mounting my home from the HD in order to load evolution settings and folders. lucid's version of evolution has converted the mail database automatically without any dialog for consensus (something related to a mismatch between db type/or version in lucid vs hardy)... this sound a bit scarring but... everything goes ok. again lucid's evolution has worked well for the few emails I've received in the while. 3) I've rebooted in my 8.04 ubuntu and reopended evolution after several weeks of non-usage: again everything has gone smooth this time! do not ask me the reasons... hardy's evolution has gone crazy for around 1 month on both imap and pop3 after almost 2 years of correct usage. then it seems to work again without _any_ reason, - specifically noone of my office-mates was afflicted by this behaviour by using outlook , thus I suppose this was not a issue of our servers. I can just point out my steps after the crazy behaviour: 1- I've dismissed evolution; 2- I've used claws mail as client for a while (basically for the time between my bug report and your answer), reorganizing imap folders from its interface; 3- I've tested the new evolution from lucid in live mode by mounting my evolution folders in my home. 4- I've constantly kept hardy updated by issuing 'aptitude update aptitude dist-upgrade'. I do not think claws can resolve download issues of evolution :-) so step 1- should be harmless... has db conversion actually made a copy of the evolution database rather than converting it? otherwise how can hardy's evolution still works? can it be the reason for the re-established correct behaviour?. I really don't know, btw everything now seems ok (and slw on imap connections wrt claws) so you can close the bug I guess. [Bug 584183] Re: Evolution crashes almost randomly
I had the same issue. After some updates in the last weeks. At least for me it seemed like evolution always crashed when it wanted to ask me for a password. So after checking my gnome-keyring configuration (some stuff in these Session/Start-Applications) settings were disabled for me. And I had an extra entry in /etc/xdg/autostart/gnome-keyring.desktop.dpkg-bak. Anyway my crashs are gone now so unfortunately I can't create a backtrace or valgrind dump. I'm also not sure which of my steps exactly made it working again. -- Evolution crashes almost randomly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/584183 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 260492] Re: opening a directory using an application change associations incorrectly
It's marked as fixed in Hardy and Intrepid. You're saying it exists in Karmic now too? When you say totally fresh, do you mean you do or don't have updates installed? If it was this bug coming back, it shouldn't take a month either. It should immediately break as soon as you opened a folder in any application other than Nautilus. Do you fit that completely reproducible test case? Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-keyring After the update to the 2.30.1 version (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-keyring/+bug/570736), gnome-keyring has stopped working in my system and on top of that is responding extremely slow. When using seahorse, I get the message: ** Message: secret service operation failed: The name org.freedesktop.secrets was not provided by any .service files ** Message: secret service operation failed: The name org.freedesktop.secrets was not provided by any .service files ** (seahorse:2627): WARNING **: couldn't get default keyring name: Errow when communicationg with gnome-keyring-daemon. after a *looong time* ( 1 min) This makes several system components unusable: * SVN: Trying to use svn takes long * Evolution: The same. * Empathy: I have lost the empathy account information and I am no longer able to create new accounts. Very slow as well. As a partial workaround, I have reverted to the old version. This makes svn and evolution usable again, but not empathy. Thank you very much!
