[Bug 597087] Re: If nicknames contain full stops, email addresses get mangled and in many cases unsendable
After updating to 2.28.3-0ubuntu10 today I get a similar problem, when replying to e-mail with a from a line like From: company.org - FirstName LastName n...@company.org evolution tries the reply to To: company.org- FirstName Lastname name@company.org not just in the To: field but also as an RCPT TO: protocol line (as FirstName Lastname name@company.org), which obviously doesn't work. This used to work for many years up until today, so I assume that this problem was introduced by a recent update. I also have an addressbook entry for that email address with just the Full Name set to FirstName LastName, but where LastName in the address book is different from the above in that it contains an Umlaut whereas the LastName above doesn't (nor does the rest of the from), so I don't think this has anything to do with the issue. @Sebastien Bacher; I am not sure what version I've been using before but I am definitely using *ubuntu10 now, is there any way to find out? -- If nicknames contain full stops, email addresses get mangled and in many cases unsendable https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/597087 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a '.crash' file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit. If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using /usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. [Bug 431073] Re: spacebar in nautilus should not open a file
Upstream comment I'd like to hear some more arguments why this behaviour should be changed. The bug report indicates that someone accidentally pressed space bar - that doesn't seem like a good enough reason to change the current mapping. In GTK, space is used to 'Toggle selected state of focused check box, radio button, or toggle button' - Nautilus would seem consistent with this. The major inconsistency is with web browsers, where space scrolls down. Many people learn shortcuts in that context and *could* expect similar behaviour in their web browser. What do Finder and Windows Explorer do? Whatever happens, I don't see a good argument for not using the space bar as a short cut for something. Other apps use it, I don't see why Nautilus shouldn't. -- spacebar in nautilus should not open a file https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/431073 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 160311] Re: Resizing windows by grabbing window borders is difficult
So we are now around 5 weeks since UDS, when this bug was slated to be discussed, but still no fix is apparent. It does almost make using a touchpad equipped notebook (with 2 buttons) unusable. 3 times out of 5 attempts you will mistime your click usually either resulting in a non- event or worse, changing focus to the window underneath, popping it up. Who knows what error you will then make, having a window popup that you didn't expect and then maybe issuing a second click to that one causing all sorts of mayhem. Please, please issue a proper fix. -- Resizing windows by grabbing window borders is difficult https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/160311 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to metacity in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 597221] [NEW] Empathy changes status to away when I put the computer to suspend, but doesn't change it back when I wake up the computer
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: empathy Using Lucid. When I suspend my computer Empathy changes my MSN status to away, or atleast when I wake my computer up my status is set to away so I guess it happens when suspending. I can't find any way to control this. I think my status should be set to Available when I wake up my computer. I don't like auto-away and I don't like that Empathy does this.
