[Bug 363363] Re: Keyboard Layout Key(s) to change layout doesn't work
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 251443 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/251443 The Keyboard Layout Key change doesn't work PROPERLY. I'm using Ubuntu 10.04. The default Alt+Alt keys to change the keyboard layout acts very strange. It is very odd, when these keys are hit both at the same time it usually changes the keyboard layout from the secondary to primary but not from the main one to the second keyboard layout. So on must always use the mouse to change the keyboard layout to the main one. I don't know what causes this problem. but it is really annoying. -- Keyboard Layout Key(s) to change layout doesn't work https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/363363 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 408417] Re: No option to log in remotely via XDMCP
Back here to see if there is any improvement... Sadly not ! I was going as slow as possible to keep my hardy's before switching to lucid when this would be solved. Now it's coming to dead line... I just want to point out that if any lambda user may/can switch from one version to the next one every 6 months, it's not the same in professional use. I can not offer myself to spend hours to do this every 6 months ! And my boss wouldn't agree at all. So maybe the profile of the users switching from one version to the other (for fun or to be at the edge) is different than the ones jumping from LTS to LTS. But Ubuntu is no more a geek toy. If it is running at my office, it because it's stable, insensitive to viruses and other shits and most of all because i can count on it no matter what happens. So for this lucid LTS, upgrading gdm was needed because the older one was no more supported. But upgrading to something that doesn't do anymore what it supposed to do, is like shooting a bullet in own foot : it's not running anymore after upgrade ! So i would have prefered to keep hardy longer. But now, according to ubuntu's logic for including packets in already released versions, even if a new version of gdm comes out, will it be integrated into Lucid LTS ? Or do we have to keep an eye on it to force this inclusion if it ever comes out for maverick ? -- No option to log in remotely via XDMCP https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/408417 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gdm in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 610422] Re: Nautilus has 100% CPU Usage since Kernel Upgrade in Lucid
Hi, all this very boring bug affects me too. Same lucid-amd64 (on 32 bit version on other machine did'nt happen) kernel 2.6.31-15-generic, nvidia nVidia Corporation G86 [GeForce 8400M GS] (rev a1), NVIDIA Driver Version 195.36.24 On my computer seems related more with Xorg or virtualfs than the version of the kernel . Actually it comes on very often logging in a user with an encripted (luks) homedir. Few days ago, after an upgrade regarding gnome libs too, seemed going better (minor frequence) but now i get it again. Lately it appeared using an old game dosbox (xorg jammed and soon xorg e nautilus cpu-usage rocketed up an finally i get a 103% cpu usage for nautilus) . When it happens make computer really useles and stays so endless and i have to reboot. wich kind of log may I send to help debugging? [Bug 611983] [NEW] Evolution [Open Link In Browser] not working for new eBay email hyperlinks
Public bug reported: I am running the following - Ubuntu Lucid Lynx 10.04 + Firefox 3.6.8 + Evolution 2.28.3 On the 26th July 2010, eBay (in their wisdom !) changed the structure of their notification emails, unfortunately since this change I have been unable (in Evolution mail) to click on the hyperlinks back to the eBay website without the resulting eBay web page showing a variety of errors. Before this issue arose, the eBay email hyperlinks had the structure such as - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemitem=290457755810ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:GB:1123 and Evolution still opens these links correctly. After the eBay change the links look like - http://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/e11021.m45.l1123/7?euid=5352848142992251064loc=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.co.uk%2Fws%2FeBayISAPI.dll%3FViewItem%26item%3D150472423977%26ssPageName%3DADME%3AB%3ASS%3AGB%3A1123 -now if within Evolution I hover over the hyperlink and select [Copy Link Location], then paste the result in Firefox, then I get the result I would expect. HOWEVER if in the same link I try to either [Open Link In Browser], or simply double clicking the mouse to open the link into Firefox, then the URL that Firefox receives looks like - http://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/e11021.m45.l1123/7?euid=5352848142992251064loc=http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemitem=150472423977ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:GB:1123 - which turns out to be invalid ! What can I do to get Evolution to send the correct form of the URL to Firefox ? - or is this an Evolution bug. There has been a short discussion on the possible cause of this problem here - https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+question/119395 and the proposed solution from that link says - I see your problem now. Seems that evolution is decoding the escape codes (%3A, %2F, etc) that are present in the original URL, but the application on eBay needs those escape codes intact. Maybe it is an Evolution bug, as it should not alter the URL while sending it to Firefox. I checked the evolution source code: http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/e/evolution/evolution_2.28.3.orig.tar.gz Inside e-util/e-util.c file, there is a function e_show_uri(). Before it passes the URL to Firefox, it removes the escape codes by calling camel_url_decode(): http://library.gnome.org/devel/camel/stable/camel-camel-url.html #camel-url-decode So I think you really should open an evolution bug and see if anyone can come with an explanation for this behavior. ** Affects: evolution (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Evolution [Open Link In Browser] not working for new eBay email hyperlinks https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/611983 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

I removed the lower panel and I am still having trouble with this bug. I doubt that the number of panels is connected to the cause of the bug, because both people with one and people with two panels experience the bug. I think it is possible that the number of panels has some influence on internal timings. And because delaying the creation of the panels seems to change a lot (according to some comments above) I think there might be some timing issue / race condition. -- visual corruption affecting several panel applets https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/439448 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 609089] Re: xkill kills all gnome-terminal instances
Hi Willem, Yep, feature not a bug! It's not unique to gnome-terminal; most apps these days use a single instance for multiple windows, indeed there have been a few apps that have been doing it for many years. In many ways the problem is that xkill is too simple. The force quit shouldn't happen unless the app is misbehaving and hence well that's an app bug that you need a force quit (normally, unless you have a device/mount problem). It's possible that it might be possible to make a smarter xkill, something that just tries to close the window less invasively, and only if that doesn't work then resort to the kill. Pryguy, if you lost clients due to this bug, how about you pledge a bounty for this to be fixed? You're obviously making money off OSS- software, good thing! let me seize the opportunity to give a status update on what I've done and know about. Others are always welcome to help, but unless you can code or package, there currently is nothing you can do. Any comment not related to packaging or coding is STRONGLY discouraged (yes, I'm looking at you pryguy, have you even bothered to read this ticket?). Next step in my opinion is to package libnatspec. Andrew and I are making good progress, albeit slowly: http://git.debian.org/?p=collab- maint/libnatspec.git I think the package is almost ready to be released to Debian (and possibly maverick). Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. You can learn more about finding the right package at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. I have classified this bug as a bug in 'gnome-menus'. If you believe that I have chosen the wrong package, please change your bug to the correct one. Also I've noticed than some of the sentences in this bug report are not in English.
