[Bug 662513] [NEW] File Size of Shared Folder Not Correct
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus I have a shared folder on another Ubuntu machine. The file size is approximately 42 gigs but when I check it from within my machine (using Samba) it displays at 30.4 gigs, not sure where it's getting this data from (it might have been this size before I transferred stuff over earlier today). Disconnecting from the folder and reconnecting did not solve it, rebooting my machine may -- going to attempt now, if it then displays correctly I'll post again, but regardless it is not updating immediately. [Bug 630383] Re: Gnome-terminal paste keyboard shortcut does not work
Hi, I have this issue and it is on Unity Ubuntu 10.10 using the gnome-terminal. I filed this bug under Unity and it was marked as a Duplicate to here. Now this bug is being ignored and marked at low since it is only being seen by people running Unity. 1. Can this bug be moved back to Unity instead of Gnome-terminal where it will receive proper attention. 2. I feel this bug is much worse than low priority. I am not aware of Ubuntu's bug policy, but would guess that a key feature of the most fundamental application any Unix os runs should be considered higher priority. I am starting to wonder if I am the only person using Unity or maybe no one using it cares about the terminal. A netbook with a terminal to ssh into a powerful server makes a pretty strong weapon. It is too bad the terminal is trying to be replaced out of fear...excuse my random rant, but seriously this is a deal breaker for a computer IMO. The terminal is broken it, does not get more fundamental than that. -- John -- Gnome-terminal paste keyboard shortcut does not work https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/630383 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-terminal in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 662542] [NEW] Applications are launched in active workspace, even if we switch while they load
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: metacity Hello, (Im not sure it's a Metacity bug, sorry if it isn't) I'm running Ubutu 10.04, but this was already happening before. Also, i wasn't sure it was a bug, thinking that it just hadn't be thought about, but an admin in brainstorm told me it was. If we launch an application, and then switch to another workspace, when the application is loaded, it will open in the active workspace, and not in the one we launched it from. This behaviour disable the ability to prepare all the workspace in one shot, without having to wait for the applications to show up. So we now have to launch them all (like 1 mail client, 1 IDE, 1 firefox, and 1 ftp client in my case) at first, wait for them all to be loaded, and then move them to the workspace we want them to go. It would be better to be able to : - launch the first application (like the mail client in my example) - switch to the second workspace and launch the second application (the IDE) - switch to the third WS and launch the third app (Firefox) - etc... This way, we wouldn't have to wait for the apps to be fully loaded to put them into a specific workspace, and they would neither steal the focus on the active workspace when they are fully loaded. [Bug 662560] [NEW] Nautilus crashes with Samba shares
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus I'm reporting this bug using the Report a bug feature from Nautilus Help menu but I'm not sure it is related to Nautilus itself. It might be a bug of smb-gvfs. I mount Samba shares with Nautilus through the connect to server option. When I move a file from a local folder to a Samba Share (ie drag and drop with ctrl key down), Nautilus crashes (and reloads itself, closing all windows) when I close the Samba share's Nautilus window. It doesn't happen if I copy the file and then remove it from the local folder, only when moving it. The problem appeared a few days ago, all was fine before, so I guess it comes from a recent update to the nautilus or smb-gvfs package. Also, it seems to happen only with Samba shares mounted through the connect to server option. There seems to be no problem when using shares mounted with cifs in fstab. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit. If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using /usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. Re: [Bug 388539] Re: Nautilus needs 'Move To.../Copy to...' actions for files and folders
It is implemented, but the only options are Copy/Move to Desktop/Home folder, which is rather pointless, since you can easily drag and drop files from any folder to your desktop. An option to Copy/Move files to external storage devices would be much more useful. -- Nelson Álvarez Sáez 56 - 63 - 241 346Home 56 - 9 - 412 16 00 Mobile 56 - 63 - 26 00 00 School Home address: Corvi 7, 4041, Valdivia, Chile -Original Message- From: antistress 388...@bugs.launchpad.net To: profenelson profenel...@aol.com Sent: Mon, Oct 18, 2010 7:55 am Subject: [Bug 388539] Re: Nautilus needs 'Move To.../Copy to...' actions for files and folders This is already implemented in ubuntu 10.10 unless i'm wrong ?! -- Nautilus needs 'Move To.../Copy to...' actions for files and folders https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/388539 You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber of the bug. -- Nautilus needs 'Move To.../Copy to...' actions for files and folders https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/388539 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
