I'm currently using a Spanish keyboard layout, and up until Lucid I could both take a screenshot with Alt+PrtScn and use magic SysRq keys without additional modifier keys (so e.g. Alt+PrtScn+B rebooted the system). Now I'm experiencing this bug. There is no reason to change the old behaviour. If Alt+PrtScn is pressed and then released, obviously no SysRq event was intended and a screenshot should be captured. Hi Brian, Thanks for your quick reaction! Well, I saw bug 660455 before reporting this one and hesitated some time to determine if it was the same bug or not. I finally decided it *seemed* not to be the same because: - no explicit mention is made of being behind a proxy and that the problem disappears when bypassing the proxy; - no mention was made that the crash happens immediately when adding a location to the clock applet configuration; - no exact interval was mentioned between crashes, but only a very general a while, which let me guess it was a longer interval then my 52 seconds, or a random interval... Now I can't promise my decision was correct because those differences may be indeed caused by incomplete information. I found one more important factor to reproduce the problem. The crashes happen only when we declare an automatic proxy script in System -- Preferences -- Network proxy and then apply it system wide. If we enter a manual proxy configuration information at this place, the clock applet doesn't crash. I'm using the nvidia binary drivers. Also using them on 2 other machines without SSD with no problems. When I try to change the theme in the gnome-appearance-properties only the titlebar theme will change. Starting the gnome-settings-daemon doesn't help until I log out and back in again. And even then only sporadically. When I select my camera, f-spot will try to show the preview images for the cr2 files, which will take a lot of time, although there are just a few photos on the camera. After a while, the thumbnails all show up with date 01.01.0001 (german format). When I press the import button now, f-spot will try to import the files and crash after a while. Afterwards, the database will be corrupted and f-spot will crash again shortly after each start. I could import the images from my camera without any problems using shotwell. Afterwards, I could import the cr2 files from the directory, where shotwell had saved them, into f-spot via drag'n drop. This way, everything was imported correctly (including metadata). Anyway, I performed the above steps described in this bug report: configuration automatic proxy, applying it system wide, launching gnome-terminal and echoing $http_proxy or even $HTTP_PROXY. The result is that none of the env variables are defined! So many applications are broken: weather applet, wget, Update Manager, Ubuntu Software Centre, Eclipse, etc. actually it's easier to give the list of application working with this: Firefox and Chromium. So this bug is critical in my opinion! I'm experiencing the same problem with a fresh install of 10.10 Evolution gradually consumes more and more RAM but seems to stop at 1.6 GB I don't have the tracker plugin installed. I'm using one IMAP account and two local calendars.
