[Bug 662194] Re: Nautilus: 'Remember this application for ... option should be made inactive by default
Sebastien Bacher wrote The issue is an upstream one and it would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug the to the people writing the software I will do that shortly. But from an ubuntu viewpoint this does represent a usability issue, I see every day several users complaining about places/home ect. opening in something other than nautilus. Many times they get proper advice, sometimes not... There have actually been a few instances, due to the app. set as default, that nothing happens without errror message - that unfortunately leads to talk of a re-install. (I don't think many notice that the default for files also being changed from the other application menu, certainly that is not as much as a usability issue. I guess I'm missing the point - is there something preventing ubuntu from making one simple edit and a rebuild to make the option inactive by default? At least then the majority of users would not be as likely to change the default folder handler or default for mimetype, as it stands now it is virtually assured the default will be altered from the other application menu. I've run a patched and rebuilt nautilus here for some time, it works out quite fine. [Bug 673989] [NEW] font layout broken after few prints
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evince Printing a pdf file produces garbled printing of letters after a few printouts. This happens when printing to my real printer (Lexmark x215 laser printer) and when printing to pdf file. It does NOT happen when printing to ps file. I suspect here, that same method is used for printing to pdf file and to my printer. I cannot give the fully exact procedure for triggering this bug. It seems to happens after a few prints of the same document, probably connected to printing only selected pages. This must be a bug in evince or related libraries, or in gnome handling of document printing, as cups is not used when printing to pdf file. Please fix this! I seldomly print, and everytime something else is broken :( .. I'm really tired of wasting paper, bug tracing every time I try to print.. My case is a bit different. When I login to Ubuntu it only asks me once for the password. [Bug 633292] Re: Lights Off game doesn't work correctly
Bigger problem ...maybe? I am a newbie so beware! Ever since I upgraded to desktop version 10.10 from 10.04, I have been unable to play many games or view videos. Game problems noticed: Gnome Games: Swell Foop and Lights Off don’t work properly. Screen loads but no LO images or no SF action. Games on AARP.org: Mah Jongg Dimensions Games on Bing.com: Pyramid Solitaire, Mah Jongg Dimensions, Bejeweled, Bejeweled 2 Video problems noticed: Videos at Bing. com All of these were accessible and functioned properly before the upgrade to Maverick. Check your system tests. [Bug 9782] Re: Better interface for tabs
No, because there still should be a convenient way to create a tab. Ideally if there is a + button, when there is only one tab it should be on the same line as the menu bar to not take up any more vertical space. -- Better interface for tabs https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/9782 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 9782] Re: Better interface for tabs
Actually ... it is useful to display the whole tab as well as a +, as you can then easily drag it into another window. At the moment if I want to drag it to another window I have to create another temporary tab and drag the first one. -- Better interface for tabs https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/9782 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 633292] Re: Lights Off game doesn't work correctly
The problems with online games I would think are unrelated. I've found in the past (before Sun released a 64-bit java plugin) that the open source Iced Tea java plugin handles 95% of applets just fine, but there were a handful of specialised applets that wouldn't work. Check to see if you have sun-java6-plugin installed - I think Iced Tea might be the default (apologies if I'm totally wrong about this). Sun's java plugin should handle any java games (it's what's used on windows if I remember correctly). -- Lights Off game doesn't work correctly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/633292 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-games in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 674105] Re: evolution randomly crashes during retrieval of a messsage that matches a filter
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit. If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using /usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding. ** Changed in: evolution (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Medium ** Changed in: evolution (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid -- evolution randomly crashes during retrieval of a messsage that matches a filter https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/674105 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
