From looking at gnome-nettool 2.31.6 in the the maverick release, the expectation of being able to edit the MTU information in place appears to me to be unreasonable or overly optimistic. The Configure button next to the chosen interface correctly brings up the Network Manager configuration tool for me, where the MTU and other settings can be changed. In contrast, gnome-nettool is designed only for viewing network-related information. So I don't see this as an issue of missing functionality. I am aware of the work around, it's just that this 'bug' is only fixed when you use GDM or KDM. Xfce4-terminal should set the variable too, but it never happens. It's xterm by default, but even if you enter some garbage text, the $TERM variable will always be linux. I find it odd that this bug is marked as invalid for xfce4-terminal, while it's very apparent. Every time I press a mediakey on the external keyboard, the left mouse click doesn't work on neither the external mouse nor the internal touchpad. Right mouse click does work fine. If I press any mediakeys on the laptop itself, everything is working fine. The only way to get the mouse working again is to pull the keyboard for a second and reattach it. Hi, I am experiencing same behavior on newly installed Ubuntu 10.10 AMD 64. First time I have noticed this was after installation of NVidia drivers, but actually it was the first time I have restarted the computer. Problem was appearing ever sync irregularly. Adding sleep 2 into the /etc/X11/Xsession.d/99x11-common_start script seems to fix the problem so I suspect it to be some nasty race condition (thanks Cuihtlauac). You can cancel this bug report. It was one of a series of errors that came up during installation that turned out to be the result of a faulty keyboard.
