[Bug 681706] [NEW] While using Search - Regular Expressions, replace button remains disabled till replace with box changes.
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gedit While using Search - Regular Expressions, the replace button remains disabled even when the search string is provided (waits for change to replace box before activating). [Bug 542183] Re: [users-admin] Changing UID doesn't work
I find this bug was fixed on 23/4/2010, but I have just been bitten again on 26/11/2010 using a fully updated Lucid LTS. I know I can work round this using the command line, but ... I need educating on the process by which bugs are fed back and fixed in Ubuntu releases, especially in LTS releases, where users do want to upgrade until the next LTS comes along. I tried upgrading to 10.10 on one machine to leave more serious bugs behind, but was immediately hit by other regressions. Can anyone point me towards a starting point for my education process? Many would be more enthusiastic about reporting and following up bugs if they could see the results more clearly. [Bug 503372] Re: Evince doesn't retain settings in Lucid
It's a pity Evince still has these bugs after all these years, despite being such a basic application. It's unbelievable the window doesn't launch maximised when we want it, it's unbelievable the absence of a Set default zoom option. Those are the basics, honestly. The problem with the window not maximised is also that round corners provided by the (awkward) window managers don't help at all... [Bug 677940] Re: brasero crashes when clicking BURN
David, in the bug report I mentioned (#646377), some people claimed that installing cdrdao (sudo apt-get install cdrdao) solves the problem. Could you please check if this works for your particular situation? [Bug 681882] [NEW] POP and SMTP transactions failed unexpectedly
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution As from approximatively 2 weeks ago, there has been an issue with sending SMTP mails, especially those going through Yahoo account. Sometimes, it worked, sometimes not, without any change in between. Mails simply remained stuck in outbox. Until a few days ago, I could synchronize inbound mails with Yahoo mailbox (POP transactions). Since then, it became impossible. So now it is with both SMTP AND POP! Error messages (in a French environment): impossible de se connecter au serveur POP pop.mail.yahoo.fr. Erreur lors de l'envoi du mot de passe. Saissez le mot de passe POP pour... (that is: Impossible connection to POP server pop.mail.yahoo.fr. Encountered issue while sending pass word. Key in POP password for...). Keying in again the current password did not change any thing (while I may access the mail box on line of course). And the same with SMTP. Then Authentification impossible sur le serveur SMTP. La commande AUTH a échoué. relai brisé (pipe) (tentative translation: Impossible authentication to SMTP server. AUTH instruction failed. Broken relay (?) (pipe) It seemed to happen following recent automated Ubuntu system updating. As a result, Evolution is just unusable for me at the moment. Notice it is NOT an Yahoo issue (nor due to corrupted/wrong password) since I tested synchronizing in/out mailbox through Thunderbird without any problem. Thanks in advance for any help. [Bug 399974] Re: [Bug 676972] Belgian workaround
Workaround for https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/399974 1) Open Desktop in Nautilus 2) Vieweverything unticked 3) ViewArrange ItemsManually 4) Maximize and you've got a new, multiple, folding, mobile Desktop. Even larger that n° 0 if you don't mind the scroll bar(s). Designed Made in Belgium (South, of course ;-) ) Interesting: just as I did that, the arrangement was n°1=n°0. [Bug 641102] Re: Desktop is frozen after login on battery (msi u210)
As of gnome-power-manager 2.32.0-0ubuntu1 I can successfully login. There are some problems with appearance of gnome panel, namely it ignores current theme set in appearance settings (System Preferences Appearance). The problem vanishes when I go to appearance settings (just opening the dialog, without changing anything on it). [Bug 680340] Re: Rewrap lines when resizing the terminal
I disagree with the decision to close this (and move it to Ubuntu Brainstorm). The problem is specific: text doesn't re-wrap when you resize a Terminal window, and there is only one logical solution: rewrap the text when the window is resized. I think this is a great candidate for a wishlist bug report, but I don't see how brainstorming and discussing will be very useful... -- Rewrap lines when resizing the terminal https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/680340 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-terminal in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
