Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a .crash file. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. If this fails you will have to open a terminal and file your report with 'ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash' where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. [Bug 688074] Re: Evolution crashes while reading/sending messages, and also when composing a message.
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. Now open your file manager, navigate to your /var/crash directory and open the crash report you wish to submit. If this fails you will have to open a terminal and file your report with 'ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash' where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. If you get an error that you aren't allowed to access this report you will have to file it with 'sudo ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash'. [Bug 690181] [NEW] Evolution crashes when clicking on the [CC] button in the compose window
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution I'm composing an e-mail where I clicked on an e-mail in my Sent folder and chose Edit as new message. One of the e-mail addresses was incorrect, so I deleted it and tried to add it with autocomplete from my address book. For some reason Evolution didn't seem to be bothering with autocomplete, so I deleted what I had written for the new address and tried clicking on [Cc] to search through my address books. As soon as I click on the [Cc] button evolution crashes. I started Evolution again and a message popped up asking if I wanted to recover a partially composed message. I chose [ Recover ] and immediately tried clicking [Cc] again. Once again Evolution crashed. I started Evolution again, chose to not recover the partially composed message and instead clicked on the new mail button. I clicked on [To] this time with the same result. I have a local address book, two Google address books, and a LDAP server all configured in Evolution (if that helps). Please let me know what debugging information I can get you. [Bug 689741] Re: libgtk2.0-0 performance problem due to unused cruft from 10 years ago
The reason why I posted to ubuntu/launchpad, is that I don't expect the upstream to really care about this enough to release a new version in a timely manner, as its not something that directly causes crashes or a security leak, it just causes a big performance drop for some applications. I would have thought the distro maintainers may want it out faster as it in theory will improve the overall performance of the distribution in all of its releases, which is a huge benefit to the millions of end users. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gtk+2.0 in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/689741 Title: libgtk2.0-0 performance problem due to unused cruft from 10 years ago -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
