[Bug 707305] [NEW] gtk incomplete drag

2011-01-25 Thread Fabien Tassin
Public bug reported:

Since Maverick, i've been experiencing incomplete drags in some gtk apps.
Initially, i filed the bug against Chromium as I first experienced the problem
there:
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=53814
but it's not a Chromium bug.

it's happening everywhere, like in gedit and in the gnome panel, mostly
with menus leaving their shadow behind until the app is killed. It
happens to me 10 times a day.

that's now with Natty, using Classic Desktop and Metacity with
compositing.

[Bug 686128] Re: Zoom / scroll behaviour is inconsistent with other Gnome programs

2011-01-25 Thread KidProQuo
I found a few of the old bug reports that explain why the behaviour is
the way it is by default.

The idea was that users usually only had a vertical scrollwheel so that
should be used for zoom and the user could drag the image around with
the mouse.

Currently dragging doesn't work so that leaves a broken UX at the moment
with current behaviour. Also, a number of mice and touchpads have
scrolling in both X and Y directions (both my machines do) which changes
the arguments a wee bit.

The gconf setting Marcel noted works and eog behaves as expected when it
is set.

[Bug 631989] Re: Regression: keyboard layout indicator cannot be hidden

2011-01-25 Thread Rocko
There is a good workaround for this problem at http://gnome-
look.org/content/show.php/Language+Flags+for+Faenza+Dark+Panel?content=133910.
Instead of the keyboard icon and text, you get just the letters 'US' for
the US keyboard, etc. Note that after making the changes, you need to
log off and back in again to get it to work.

Whenever I tried to install from ubuntu software centre it says An unhandlable
error occured...fix the problem manually/report at launchpad. There seems to be
a programming error in aptdaemon, the software that allows you to
install/remove software and to preform other package management related tasks.
It began to happen when I tried to install java-virtual-machine (package name
sun-java6-jre). Also the java package failed to install showing the license
agreement , where I can't do anything.

[Bug 649582] Re: Can't select Conversation Log in Body List

2011-01-25 Thread sberg
Hi Omer,

yes this will happen every time.

Steps1: get a chat of user in my body list - conversation log will be created
Steps2: right click at the same body - MenuItem Previous Conversation isn't
sensitive and will never

The Problem is the sametime identifier because it's in domino syntax.
example: CN=Lisa Vogel/O=ilink

The / force the problem to find the content.
The TpLogger replace the / with _ and create a folder like CN=Lisa
Vogel_O=ilink (In LpLogger Dir) which will contain the chat history.

I can create you an account on our sametime server if you like.
So you can reproduce it very fast.
Give me a PM if you are interested, and I'll send you the account data. Not
public of course ;- }

[Bug 707346] [NEW] Window/toolbar overlap in vertically stacked monitor configuration

2011-01-25 Thread Gordon Ball
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

Binary package hint may be wrong, possible other candidates metacity,
nvidia-current.

When using a vertically stacked monitor layout (1280x1024 on top of
1280x800), with the primary monitor set to the upper screen.

The GNOME upper and lower toolbars (fixed size, not set to auto-hide)
are displayed on the primary (upper) screen. Windows in this screen when
maximised set their upper bound as the bottom of the upper toolbar, but
set their lower bound as the bottom of the top screen (underneath the
bottom toolbar).

Expected behaviour: either the bottom toolbar should appear on the
second (lower) screen, or windows maximised on the upper screen should
maximise only in between the two toolbars.

Actual behaviour: windows maximise to include the space under the bottom
toolbar, meaning that the active line of a terminal is hidden unless the
terminal is explicitly resized.

Other information:
ubuntu: 10.10
w/m: metacity 1:2.30.2-0ubuntu1
gnome-panel: 1:2.30.2-1ubuntu3

The multiple screens are being run using the nvidia binary driver,
version 260.19.06-0ubuntu1. This may be significant given the way it
handles X screens when multiple monitors are connected.

[Bug 644644] Re: Frequent PA crashes during playback - pa_stream_cork() failed: Connection terminated and pa_stream_writable_size(): Connection failed

2011-01-25 Thread Gordon Ball
I note an interesting variation of this bug which I don't think anyone
else has reported (ubuntu 10.10).

I am unable to play video at any time with totem (resulting in the
pa_stream_cork() failed messageboxes as other have described).

However, using either rhythmbox (which I would naively assume is using
all the same backend elements as totem), playback succeeds, but only if
a network connection is available. No error messages are reported if no
network connection is available, but the sounds frequently pauses and
comes out in mixed-up order.

I see the same behaviour with mplayer (works providing a network
connection is available, otherwise sound pauses and shuffles as with
rhythmbox). No errors are shown except for a warning that my system is
too slow to play the video (not the case). Mplayer can be made to work
normally without a network connection by killing pulse and using -ao
{alsa, oss}.

I looked in my pulseaudio configuration and could not obviously find
anything that should be network dependent (network sinks, etc) - the
configuration should be as-shipped, anyway.

I'm not sure if this is sufficiently different to count as a separate
bug. I will see if the PPA above solves any of these issues.
