[Bug 826331] Re: Nautilus menu hidden under the Unity panel

2011-08-15 Thread Bowmore
I've noticed the same (similar) issue for unity-2d, gnome-panel
(fallback) and gnome-shell even though it's harder to reveil the
nautilus menu behind those main panels. So it's more likely a
nautilus/gtk issue.

[Bug 826590] [NEW] 11.04 Installer crashes

2011-08-15 Thread Asapuntz
Public bug reported:

Been updating ubuntu for years, but I can't install 11.04. Athlon 64
X2,, nvidia 7600GS, installing amd64 off CD (bit torrent). Dual-boot
system with Windows XP, overwriting previous ubuntu partitions, per
usual upgrade procedure. Manual partitioning or automatic seems to
crash regardless.

First I get an installer error dialog, pretty far along in the process,
something about dpkg choking? I dismiss the dialog with warning about
possible failures downstream. A few minutes later I get an Installer
crashed dialog explaining that I should log this bug. Again, no
specifics, just a request to attach /var/log/syslog and
/var/log/partman. Figuring out how to get a browser wasn't easy (System
Settings System Monitor Help Report A Problem).

Installer crashed dialog cannot be dismissed (via X or Close button).

Attaching syslog, will try to attach partman separately?

[Bug 826590] Re: 11.04 Installer crashes

2011-08-15 Thread Asapuntz
Now I can't even boot into XP!!

I get dumped into a grub rescue prompt - probably because the grub
config file is in the linux /home partition which is fubar?

Pardon me while I vent, but how does that make ANY SENSE AT ALL?
Shouldn't the Cfg be in the same place a Grub itself so that messing up
a parition doesn't take all OS installs out of service?

[Bug 762058] Re: Ubuntu 11.04 Natty after gnome screensaver, can't click or focus

2011-08-15 Thread Yfrwlf
Some more about this bug:

It seems it's a problem with window focus. If the gnome panel has
focus, you can click and manipulate things in the panel, but not
anywhere else. If Firefox has focus, you can click and do stuff there,
including moving the window, but you can't click on or manipulate or
scroll or anything in any other window, *even* if you alt-tab to other
windows. Those other windows will highlight and be selected after alt-
tabbing, but the *mouse* still can't manipulate them in any way. So
it's like the mouse is basically trapped and focused on certain
windows independently from everything else.

If you alt-F4 to close the focused window, your mouse will be able to
operate in the newly-focused window.

[Bug 762058] Re: Ubuntu 11.04 Natty after gnome screensaver, can't click or focus

2011-08-15 Thread Yfrwlf
I've managed to reproduce a way to temporarily get out of the problem:

Right-click inside the window which has mouse focus, so that the right-
click menu appears.

You can then click on other windows for a while.

After clicking again in the window which had focus though, your focus is
once again stolen and you'll be trapped again and only able to click in
that window.

It's like somehow the gnome right-click menu lets you break out of being
trapped, at least temporarily...

Can anyone else verify all this?

Weird!

[Bug 822750] Re: crash when adding a new task

2011-08-15 Thread Pedro Villavicencio
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or
challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these
instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can
be dealt with by the automatic retracer.

If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable
apport in /etc/default/apport and restart.

Now open your file manager, navigate to your /var/crash directory and open the
crash report you wish to submit.
If this fails you will have to open a terminal and file your report with
'ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash' where _my_crash_report.crash is
the crash you would like to report. If you get an error that you aren't allowed
to access this report you will have to file it with 'sudo ubuntu-bug
/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash'.

I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will
automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more
efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

[Bug 822549] Re: Evolution crashes when using WebDAV for contacts (segmentation faults and others)

Any workaround likely?

[Bug 823857] Re: no pics/images in the nted help

2011-08-15 Thread Pedro Villavicencio
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your
description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful
to read How to report bugs effectively
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures

At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!

2011-08-15 Thread Tommi Höynälänmaa
I still have the problem but now it occurs only with print preview. I'm
also unable to print the document in the print preview window. I
sometimes get a total mess when previewing the document and sometimes
only a few formulas are erroneous. I have attached two screenshots about
the bug.

[Bug 791028] Re: Audio Cd's are not automaticaaly identified

2011-08-15 Thread Uberground
I can confirm this. In 11.04, the HTTP requests being made to retrieve
album details are returning a 404. Please find attached an example of
the HTTP request/response that Rhythmbox is making. I also run Ubuntu
9.10, this bug occurs there too.

Fixed in Rhythmbox source here:
