[Bug 819158] Re: Patch yelp for new documentation homepage

2011-08-16 Thread Martin Pitt
Is that a change that will still happen in the -doc packages? If I press
F1 on the desktop, or just call yelp, I get the Ubuntu Desktop Guide
page, which seems alright. But then again, calling yelp ghelp:gnome-
help and yelp ghelp:ubuntu-help currently leads me to the very same
page; it would indeed make sense for ghelp:gnome-help to show the
upstream documentation.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be
reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the
development release - Oneiric Ocelot. It would help us greatly if you
could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next
release of Ubuntu. You can find out more about the development release
at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/ . Thanks again and we appreciate your
help.

They aren't exactly identical. ubuntu-docs and gnome-user-docs in
oneriric are currently quite similar but that won't remain the case
for very long.

We will need to make a seeding change to remove gnome-user-docs for
the default install after this change is made and add it as a
dependency for the Gnome Shell packages (unless that is already the
case).

Yes, we're going to have Gnome Shell recommend gnome-user-docs.
Unfortunately, Gnome Shell users will still get the Unity docs by
default but I believe that's fixable, just might not be done for
Oneiric.

One workaround would be to create an extra .desktop for Gnome Help,
which could be what users want.

[Bug 827184] [NEW] email is not sent immediately but stalls in the Outbox

2011-08-16 Thread Michael Rose
Public bug reported:

Evolution 2.32.2-0ubuntu7 in Mint11 64bit.

Works as expected when launched as Evolution.

When the Composer window is opened from Deskbar or as Send Link from
Firefox or Epiphany, the email is not sent immediately but ends up
sitting in the Outbox. To get it sent you have to open Evolution and hit
Send/Receive.

No error or warning messages display.

Not the expected behavior!

[Bug 728273] Re: Nautilus trash can't open OpenOffice files

2011-08-16 Thread iox
Hi Pedro,

I just tested it in Oneiric Ocelot Alpha 3 32 bits live cd. The bug is
still here:

- I can open a TXT document from the trash.
- When I try to open a ODT document LibreOffice starts loading, but it closes
before opening the document.

I also tested opening the document with the terminal (libreoffice
.local/share/Trash/document.odt) and it works. I believe this is an
issue with the path the Trash is passing on to LibreOffice.

Tell me if you need more information.

Regards,
Ignacio

[Bug 783130] Re: Missing users on Ubuntu login screen

2011-08-16 Thread turbolad
apport information

** Description changed:

  Ubuntu 11.04 64-bit.
Quite often when I switch on my computer and boot Ubuntu, when it gets to the
login screen, only my username appears.
There are 3 user accounts on this computer and my account was the first one
created during Ubuntu installation.
I've seen it happen many times - only my username appears on the list, but
when I reboot, the next time the login screen appears, it then shows all 3
users.
On my old computer when I had Ubuntu 10.10 64-bit, I never had this problem
and I would always see the 3 user accounts on the login screen list.

[Bug 827301] [NEW] evolution GUI no longer allows for non-default ports for email

2011-08-16 Thread Jamie Strandboge
Public bug reported:

Since some ISPs block outbound port 25, some mail servers listen on
other ports. Evolution currently uses a combobox but only allows for
ports 25, 465 and 587 and users must dig down into gconf settings to
change this. The same is true for incoming mail (though this may be less
of a problem).

Thanks again and we appreciate your
 help.

[Bug 827393] [NEW] gnome-sound-applet controls PCM instead of master volume

2011-08-16 Thread José Alburquerque
Public bug reported:

When pressing the up or down volume multimedia keys or clicking on the
sound applet and raising the volume (or lowering it) with the mouse, the
volume that goes up or down is the PCM and not the master channel of the
sound card. I've verified this by running alsamixer in a terminal to
see which channel's volume goes up or down.

[Bug 827387] [NEW] scrollbar fights with resize handle for z-order

2011-08-16 Thread Alistair Buxton
Public bug reported:

To reproduce:

1. Open gnome terminal and push enter until scrollbar visible.
2. Notice it is drawn *over* the resizing triangle thing in the bottom right.
3. Click on the menu. Now it is drawn under the resizing handle.

A minor bug, but annoying.

[Bug 827399] [NEW] gnome-sound-applet doesn't remember the chosen output device between logins

2011-08-16 Thread José Alburquerque
Public bug reported:

Whenever I login to my account (usually after a boot up), the selected
output device in the settings of the sound applet always defaults to the
first sound card found and not the one that I've selected in the
previous session. (I have two sound cards).  That's a little bothersome;
the sound card that was selected in a previous session should be
remembered.

[Bug 501919] Re: Error printing second page: IllegalTag

2011-08-16 Thread Guillermo Molleda
The bug is corrected, now is ok.

But... the default printer controller for HP Laser Jet 1300 (HP Laser Jet 1300
Series Postscript [en](recommended)) is very slow, three minutes per page for
print a soft-greese ink.
If select controller is HP Laser Jet 1300 Foomatic/lj5gray [en] the velocity
is only slow: two pages in one minute.

[Bug 827414] [NEW] gedit fails to start on first try, but does on the second

2011-08-16 Thread Curtis Hovey
Public bug reported:

The gedit window fails to appear when I start gedit on my first try. It
does appear on my second try. This is true when starting from the
launcher, opening a document from a folder, or opening a file using the
terminal. I can see gedit did started the first time; the process is
running.

If I start gedit using --standalone it does work the first time. This
implies that default behaviour is to start gedit in the background. The
file is ignored when gedit starts in the background, so a second call is
needed to load the document.

[Bug 827380] Re: scroll bar disappears when switching tabs

No, it works the way I would expect it to in gedit. The scrollbars are
always visible if there is more content than can fit in the window, even
after switching tabs.
